Nollywood actress Nkiru Sylvanus and former Mr Nigeria Kenneth Okolie who were kidnapped, Monday, in Owerri have been released, Thursday night, by their captors.
Nkiru and Kenneth were both kidnapped at 2.30pm close to the famous Concord Hotel, Owerri. The kidnappers had then contacted family and some friends of Nkiru to demand N100m as ransom. But barely hours after an open letter was written to the IG of Police on the matter by 
concerned friends of the kidnap victims, their release was eventually secured. 
                                      
                                          

                                     

                     
                                 


  The Special Assistant to the Imo State Governor on Public Affairs and popular Nollywood actress, Nkiru Sylvanus has been kidnapped in Owerri, the Imo State capital. Sources close to the actress said she was kidnapped last Saturday night around Concorde Hotel, where she was believed to have gone for an undisclosed engagement.

It was further gathered that contact had been established with her abductors and a ransom of N100 million is being demanded for her release. Though the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Vitalis Onugu said the police was yet to be informed, impeccable Government House sources had confirmed it.
 
Nkiru Sylvanus was in a recent cabinet reshuffle by Governor Rochas Okorocha redeployed her from prevous position as the special assistant, Lagos Affairs to Imo State, where she assumed her new portfolio until her kidnap. Meanwhile, a prominent music producer, popularly known as Bruno was also robbed in Owerri and dispossessed of substantial valuables.





The National Law and Drug Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has appointed Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus as its ambassadors. This is the first time the agency will appoint ambassadors.

Stella, according to Dr. Ajayi, has been inspiring the youths with her many activities and projects
                                                     
 Speaking during the official unveiling of the new ambassadors at the NDLEA headquarters in Lagos yesterday morning, the Director General of the agency, Dr. Femi Ajayi, said Stella was painstakingly picked for the honour due to their outstanding positive impacts on youths and the society at large.

After the presentation of certificates to Stella promised that she will do all within her reach to assist the agency and its officials in achieving their primary objectives.
