Former Minister of Aviation and spokesperson of PDP presidential campaign, Femi Fani-Kayode, was arraigned before a Federal High Court in Lagos today over an alleged N1.5 billion fraud. Also arraigned in court is a former Minister of Finance, Senator Nenadi Usman. They are being accused of spending N1.5 billion which was gotten from arms deal fraud, on PDP campaign during the last presidential election. More photos after the cut.

Former college student who gave birth in her sorority house last year was on Monday, June 27, sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing the newborn by throwing her in the trash.
Emile Weaver, 21, of Clarington was found guilty by a jury last month of aggravated murder, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with evidence. 
Prosecutors said Weaver gave birth in a bathroom at the Delta Gamma Theta sorority at Muskingum University on April 22, 2015, then purposefully caused the death of her baby.

Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, this morning filed a notice of appeal and application for stay of execution at the Court of Appeal in Abuja against the ruling of Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court. Justice Abang had yesterday sacked Ikpeazu from office after his main contender during the state's PDP primary in 2014, Uche Ogah, proved to the court that Ikpeazu presented fake tax clearance during the gubernatorial primaries.

Following the escape of two inmates from Kuje prison last week, the Minister of Interior, Lt.-Gen. Abdurahaman Dambazau (rtd) on Monday, June 27, ordered immediate security beef up at the Kuje Medium prisons and all other prisons across the country. Dambazau gave the order in Abuja shortly after an on-the-spot assessment of the Kuje prisons in Abuja. The two inmates standing trial for murder were said to have escaped from the prison on Friday and are still at large.

Canadian mixed martial artist, and seven-fight UFC veteran, Ryan Jimmo has died due to injuries sustained from a hit-and-run incident in a nightclub parking lot in Canada in the early morning hours of June 26. 
Jimmo was involved in an altercation at around 2:15 a.m., in the parking lot of the H2O Lounge in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. As Jimmo walked away from the vehicle driven by the “suspects,” the driver of an ‘older-model, extended-cab pickup truck,’ accelerated, striking Jimmo.

A mother-in-law killed her estranged daughter in law! A well-liked kindergarten teacher in Georgia was shot to death at her parents' home by the mother of her estranged husband. 
According to the authorities, 63-year old Elizabeth B. Wall (left) has been accused of shooting dead her daughter-in-law, 35-year-old Jenna Wall (right) at the home. She had arrived at Jenna Wall's home with her 7 & 8 yr old grandsons, and told them to wait outside in a pickup truck and she entered the house.

Heavy rain has caused serious flooding in some parts of the UK. There is a major disruption to the rail network, with many routes blocked by water and a number of London Underground lines have been suspended due to the rising floods. It has also affected homes, commercial properties, roads and even vehicles have been trapped. Some properties were reportedly struck by lightning, which also brought down a tree. The London Fire Brigade have appealed to people to only dial 999 "where there is a risk to life or property" after receiving twice as many weather-related emergency calls than they've ever handled in 24 hours.

The International Criminal Court has sentenced ex-rebel leader and former Congolese vice president Jean-Pierre Bemba to 18 years for murders, rapes and pillaging committed by his troops in the Central African Republic more than a decade ago.
The verdicts announced today Tuesday, June 21, focused on the actions of his troops, as Bemba commanded a private army of 1,500 men who intervened in the neighbouring Central African Republic's civil war.

The family of late Nigerian music producer and artiste,  Babatunde Okungbowa, aka  OJB Jezreel  who passed on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 have released details for  his final burial rites. The respected music producer and singer battled with Kidney problems since 2013. 
He was consequently was flown to India for a transplant in 2013, after the successful surgery, OJB Jezreel, showered praises on his first wife, Mama J, for being there for him and donating one of her kidneys to save his life and also on the people, Fans and Friends that gave supports monetarily and otherwise.
