A 54 year old Chinese businessman Xiong Shuihua did something amazing for the community where he grew up in Xinyu, Southern China. He paid to bulldoze all the wooden huts in the area then spent millions replacing them with an estate of luxury flats for the residents.

In total, he housed 72 families to repay them for their kindness towards him while he was growing up. He's also giving villas costing about £4m pounds to another 18 families who were particularly kind to him. In addition, elderly and low paid residents will also be given three meals a day for free.

Residents of Kukawa and Gubio villages in Borno state have fled their villages after they reportedly received a letter from Boko Haram informing them of an impending attack on their communities.

A resident of the village, Modu Kaka who spoke with Sahara Reporters, said immediately they received the letter, thousands of residents fled.
"They had attacked other local government areas around us. So when we received threat letters from Boko Haram that they would attack us soon, we all had to flee for our lives. We heard what happened to people in Damasak where a similar threat was made and carried by Boko Haram.” he said

A senior Bono state government official who hails from Gubio, one of the villages reportedly written to, confirmed the mass exodus of the villagers from their villages to the state capital, Maiduguri where some of them have either settled in with relatives or moved into the Internally Displaced Peoples camps.

Punch is reporting that 63 senators as of yesterday Thursday November 27th have signed up to the plan to impeach President Goodluck Jonathan in the upper legislative chamber. 
They reported that one of the arrowheads of the move to remove Jonathan in the Senate showed one of their correspondents the list containing the signatures of the senators. A source told the paper that 8 PDP senators were among the signatories to the planned impeachment notice. There are 109 members in the Senate.

This romeo got not one but four female prison officials pregnant while serving a 20 year jail sentence for attempted murder inside a Baltimore City Detention Centre. 

Tavon White, known as 'Kingpin' ran a vast drugs smuggling business from inside the prison, CBS Baltimore reports. Prosecutors say he made $10,000 to $20,000 a week smuggling drugs and cell phones into the prison and befriended the female guards who helped to make his business easy. He rewarded them with sex and got 4 pregnant. Two of the women even tattooed his name on their body.

Five officers of the corrupt prison, Tavon & two other inmates are now facing charges of conspiracy, drug distribution and money laundering.

A 35 year old Nigerian man was sentenced to death today November 25th by a Malaysian High Court for trafficking in 251.66 gm of methapethamine.

Abuchi Ngwoke, was arrested in May 2012 at a Malaysian airport. He had swallowed the drugs.

The High court judge described Ngwoke's testimony about swallowing gemstones in Nigeria before traveling to Malaysia as absurd. A date is yet to be set for his execution.

Matriarch of the Awolowo family, Chief Mrs H.I.D Awolowo turned 99 yesterday and to celebrate the landmark age, her family and well wishers converged at the Awolowo residence in Ikenne, Ogun state, to hold a thanksgiving service for her. Present at the ceremony were governors of Ogun and Delta state, former Lagos state Governor, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, Princess Abba Folawiyo, her grandson Segun Awolowo and others. Halle Berry took her baby daddy Gabriel Aubry to court, claiming he's trying to make their 6yr old daughter white. In court documents, Halle said Aubry was straightening and lightening Nahla's naturally-curly hair in an effort to make her appear less Black.

According to TMZ, a judge has ordered Gabriel to stop what he's doing with Nahla's hair. He ruled that neither Halle nor Gabriel could change Nahla's look from its natural state moving forward. The judge is allowing Nahla's hair to grow back naturally.

Literary Icon, Prof Wole Soyinka, revealed today at a press conference in Abeokuta Ogun state, that he's a cancer survivor. He said his appointment as a board member of the African Cancer Centre made him undergo a routine checkup last year which revealed he had cancer. He said he was diagnosed with the disease in December 2013.
"It never occurred to me to test myself because men have their separate test like women and I have heard people who lost very dear ones, closed ones. They just told me, ‘Prof, we hope you’re having your own?’ And I told them I had one 10 years ago and he said, “No, no, do it regularly.” And by accident in December last year, I discovered that I had cancer.”.

A Federal High court sitting in Abuja has freed Aminu Oguche, the suspected mastermind of the Nyanya bomb blast which killed about 70 people in April.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the court in it's ruling, dismissed the two counts terrorism charges brought against him and freed him based on lack of diligent prosecution by the state.



Aminu escaped to Sudan after allegedly coordinating the attack. He was apprehend and repatriated to Nigeria in July. More photos of him in court today after the cut...

The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor has called on the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, to write a letter to members of Boko Haram to stop their attacks just as he did to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Pastor Oritsejafor made the call today at a 2-day meeting in Abuja with Senior Special Assistants on Religious Affairs to all state governors.
“His Eminence said he wrote a letter to ISIS, I have to truly congratulate you for that because that was a very good move. I didn’t know about it until today and I am so glad it happened. But I want to appeal that you also write to Boko Haram because Boko Haram is worst than ISIS.
They have killed more people than ISIS, they have caused more atrocities than ISIS; they need to be written to as well, it is very important it will help. I have made an appeal several times that there are some of our leaders who must come together, religious, political and traditional. They must come and discuss.’’ he said

A source close to the family told LIB exclusively that the late Mr. Okoye recently had a successful knee surgery and was about going for physiotherapy when he just fell. So sad. Thousands of people flooded the streets from L.A. to New York late Monday night after a grand jury decided they were not going to indict officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of unarmed 18 year old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, saying that officer Wilson acted 'lawful'.

The jury was of course composed of 12 people; six white men, three white women, two black women and one black man. They met on 25 separate days and heard more than 70 hours of testimony from about 60 witnesses, including three medical examiners and other experts on blood, toxicology and firearms. And decided officer Brown did nothing wrong by killing a black unarmed teen 6 times.
After the announcement, protesters flooded the streets burning cars, setting buildings on fire, torching police cars, looting shops, flooding highways and causing massive chaos especially in St. Louis and Oakland, California. See some photos after the cut...
