For those who haven't read this story that went viral yesterday, here's what happened. Right is a photo of one of ex-beauty queen Ibidun Ighodalo's dogs, named Simba. The dog was killed by poison by the same man Ibidun hired to take care of her six dogs. Simba was the closest dog to Ibidun's heart.

The dog handler, whose lower body you see in the photo, was employed by Ibidun to take care of her dogs and he lived with Ibidun and her husband at their Ikoyi home. He lived in the boys-quarters with other domestic staff. But for some reason, 24 year old Abdulkareem Mohammed became obsessed with Ibidun, started having sexual fantasies about her and then began to plot on how to make her love him. A ‘fantastic’ woman took her own life because she struggled with the fact shewas unmarried and had no children by the age of 30, an inquest heard.
Hospital administrator Rachel Gow, 29, of Haslingden, Lancashire, thought she was not where she should be in life and felt other members of her family were ‘doing better than her’.


Fearing her boyfriend Anton Tsvarev, 30 would leave her, Miss Gow sent him a text message wishing him ‘all the best for the future’ before taking her own life at her home.

Lagos state PDP gubernatorial candidate Jimi Agbaje, has promised to pull down the Lekki/Epe toll gates, if elected next governor of the state. He said this at a peaceful protest, tagged March for freedom, organised by Freedom Group in Lekki
"I am here to show solidarity with you on the issue of the toll plaza for which you are marching today and assure you that when we get into office, these toll gates will come down; I will demolish all of them. The public/private partnership, PPP, arrangement behind this project is not transparent.
Look at the BRT and Lagos light rail projects, they are collapsing because the PPP arrangements they have on ground are not sustainable. The light rail which was supposed to have been ready since 2012, is grounded and this is because of vested interests of a few people. The PPP arrangements are skewed to favour only a few people, so for me, I am in solidarity with you and a vote for us is a vote for freedom, a vote to bring down the toll plazas.” Mr Agbaje said (source -Vanguard)

When asked to clarify his statement "Stealing is not corruption" during the presidential media chat yesterday evening, president Jonathan said he made the statement quoting the former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Dahiru Mustafa, who explained to him that his analysis of corruption cases in Nigeria showed that most of the cases tagged as corruption were theft. President Jonathan said that referring to stealing as corruption minimizes the crime. "Ole (thief in Yoruba) should be called Ole and given that treatment. Let us communicate properly. The word corruption, we have abused it." GEJ said. .

Singer Paul Play Dairo has filed a N200m lawsuit against telecommunications company, Etisalat for using his song, Mosorire in its popular reality series, Nigerian Idol, without seeking his consent. In the suit filed at a Lagos High court and marked FHC/CS/581/2014, Optima Media Group was made co-defendant. Paul stated that the defendants had used his hit song, Mosorire, which he composed himself, to promote their TV show, Nigerian Idol in 2012 and 2013.

He alleged that during the course of the programme, a contestant was made to reproduce his song and sing it without his express permission as the owner of the song.
