In its bid to boost Maternal Child Healthcare (MCH) in the country, the federal government on Friday commissioned the N1.1 billion National Ambulance Service.

The 100 ambulances are to aid transportation of women and children to health facilities where they can access care.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday came hard again on President Jonathan and his style of governance, claiming that President Jonathan is afraid that if Gen Buhari wins the election, he might jail him when he leaves office. Obasanjo said this while speaking to newsmen at his home in Abeokuta shortly after his return from his trip to Kenya and UK.

Obasanjo said President Jonathan was doing everything possible to win the elections, either by hook or by crook. He said president Jonathan is playing the cards of former Cote d’Ivoire President, Laurent Gbagbo who continued shifting elections in his country in a bid to ensure that he won the election, a situation that plunged Cote d'Ivoire into political crisis. For those who haven't read this story that went viral yesterday, here's what happened. Right is a photo of one of ex-beauty queen Ibidun Ighodalo's dogs, named Simba. The dog was killed by poison by the same man Ibidun hired to take care of her six dogs. Simba was the closest dog to Ibidun's heart.

The dog handler, whose lower body you see in the photo, was employed by Ibidun to take care of her dogs and he lived with Ibidun and her husband at their Ikoyi home. He lived in the boys-quarters with other domestic staff. But for some reason, 24 year old Abdulkareem Mohammed became obsessed with Ibidun, started having sexual fantasies about her and then began to plot on how to make her love him. A ‘fantastic’ woman took her own life because she struggled with the fact shewas unmarried and had no children by the age of 30, an inquest heard.
Hospital administrator Rachel Gow, 29, of Haslingden, Lancashire, thought she was not where she should be in life and felt other members of her family were ‘doing better than her’.


Fearing her boyfriend Anton Tsvarev, 30 would leave her, Miss Gow sent him a text message wishing him ‘all the best for the future’ before taking her own life at her home.
