Indonesia has executed 8 of the 9 people convicted for drug offenses. The men all pictured above were taken to a jungle clearing on the island Nusakambangan according to local media reports and were executed at midnight Indonesia time by 12 police privates (that would be about 6pm Nigerian time). The only woman amongst them, Mary Jane Fiesta Veloso, was spared last minute after new information emerged about her case. A woman who reportedly tricked her into carrying drugs turned herself in earlier today. The bodies of the men will be taken by road to Jakarta later today.

A staunch supporter of Gen Buhari, social and political commentator, Kayode Ogundamisi took to twitter this morning to speak against the president-elect's decision to bar AIT from covering his activities. He criticized AIT for the way they came for Buhari during the election and said they should be made accountable for what they did but says barring them is not the way to go. Staff of Africa Independent Television, AIT, have been barred from covering all activities of  the President-elect, Gen. Buhari until issues bordering on ethics and standards against them have been addressed. AIT crew members were today escorted out of the Defence House where the president-elect currently resides. He was about to have a meeting with the Cuban and Switzerland ambassadors when the reporters were escorted out. Speaking on the development, the spokesperson of the Buhari campaign organization, Shehu Garba said family and security concerns necessitated it.
"AIT has been asked to step aside based on security and family concerns. In addition, Buhari has decided that they will have to resolve some issues relating to issues of standard and ethics. We will be talking with them to try and resolve the matter, but for now the station has been asked to stay aside because, like I said, there are some family and security concerns.
They have been asked to step down their coverage until we resolve the matter with them on ethics and standards‎. You can quote me that I said that we have asked them to step aside and that we are resolving the the issues of ethics and standards with them.”he said

Hundreds of decomposed bodies including those of women and children were discovered by a government committee in Damasak, northern Borno State this past weekend. The committee was set up by Governor Kashim Shettima to assess the level of destruction in towns

According to Daily Trust, the victims were suspected to have been killed by Boko Haram insurgents as they fled the town following an onslaught by Chadian forces to recapture the town.


Credible sources said decomposed bodies littered the streets while many others were discovered inside houses, shallow graves and rivers that have dried up on the onset of the dry season.

Anambra state governor Willie Obiano who is an APGA party member paid a congratulatory visit to President elect, General Buhari in Abuja yesterday April 24th. According to Governor Obiano, he came to congratulate Buhari on his victory at the polls as well as ask him not to sideline the Igbos in the constitution of his cabinet. Governor Obiano denied speculations that his visit was a move for him to defect to the APC.
"It is not correct. I will remain with APGA and work very closely with Mr president. I came to congratulate His Excellencey the President -elect on his victory and I am also here to reassure him that Anambra and the south East would support him.

Former President Obasanjo is claiming other African leaders were happy that President lost the 2015 presidential election. According to Punch, Obasanjo said this during his speech at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington DC yesterday...
“I have visited six countries since the election, they are as happy about the results. It is good not only for Nigeria, it is good for Africa and I believe it is good for the world.”

He then advised African leaders to learn from democracy being practiced in Nigerian and stop the habit of holding on to power by all means. That for Africa to survive, leaders must demonstrate statesmanship.

One of the popular Sweeten twins, child stars of hit US show Everybody Loves Raymond has killed himself. Sawyer Sweeten (left & centre) shot himself on the front porch of the family home in Texas yesterday morning April 23rd. He was 19 years old.
"This morning a terrible family tragedy has occurred," the family said in a statement. "We are devastated to report that our beloved brother, son, and friend, Sawyer Sweeten, took his own life. He was weeks away from his 20th birthday. At this sensitive time, our family requests privacy and we beg of you to reach out to the ones you love."

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, has called for the removal of payment of subsidy from petroleum products in Nigeria. Speaking at the 2015 Oloibiri Lecture Series and Energy Forum  organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers in Abuja today April 23rd, the Group Coordinator, Corporate Strategy and Planning, NNPC, Mr. Timothy Okon, said subsidy on petrol creates uneven distribution of revenue, round tripping and unnecessary carry-over of funds from one year to another in a manner difficult for the Federal Government to control. He added that continuous payment of subsidy is not sustainable.

He's just a month away from leaving as president of Nigeria and he could have signed this constitutional amendment bill that doesn't particularly concern him anymore but he refused to. For those who don't know what's going on, let me break it down to the best of my ability. Lol. He couldn't wait till after the match and take her to a hotel or something. British footballer Jay Hart, 24, was kicked out of his team, Clitheroe FC, after he was filmed having sex with a willing female fan he met during a football match.

Jay, who wasn't playing, was approached by the female fan. And after chatting for a few minutes, Jay, who has a girlfriend, took the lady to the manager dugout, pulled down his pants and started having sex with her. Another fan caught the action on a cell phone.

26 year old Yamini Karanam, was having brain surgery for a suspected tumour when she discovered her "evil twin sister"

 An embryonic twin has been find inside a woman's brain while she was having surgery for a suspected tumour. Doctors discovered the twin, known medically as a 'teratoma', complete with bone, hair and teeth, inside the brain of Yamini Karanam.
