Soldiers of the 144 Battalion of the Nigerian Army reportedly opened fire on members of the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) during a protest in Aba, Abia State today January 18th, killing an unidentified member of the group. Local markets, schools and Banks have closed down following the violent clash between IPOB members and security officers. According to a young escapee, ISIS is brainwashing children in its self declared Islamic caliphate to murder their parents. Identified by his first name Nasir, the 12-year-old revealed that he was one of 60 children being trained to operate as a suicide bomber. After being taken captive, the would-be child soldiers -which included boys as young as five, were told that ISIS commanders cared for them more than their own parents.

Olamide David, a Nollywood child actor has died. A family source told LIB that the 2015 best Kid Actor at BON Awards was playing football with his friends yesterday Sunday January 17th when he was mistakenly kicked in the stomach by another player. He fell to the ground and complained of pains. They rushed him to General Hospital, Ikeja where he died a few hours later in the early hours of today Jan. 18th. He was just 14 years old. So sad! May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

History was made yesterday Sunday January 17th when the new Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II paid an unexpected visit to the Alaafin Of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi who was celebrating his 45th coronation anniversary on the throne. It was the first time in 79 years that an Ooni of Ife will visit an Alaafin of Oyo, following a cold war of supremacy said to have been in existence between the (previous) two monarchs for over 7 decades. The last time a reigning Ooni of Ife visited an Alaafin was in 1937.

A man who was left brain-dead after suffering serious side effects during a French drugs trial for a new painkiller died on Sunday, in the latest tragic development in the worst such accident in France’s medical history. Several Red Devils stars have promoted the Leonardo DiCaprio film on their Twitter pages ahead of its release on Thursday.

Chris Smalling, Memphis Depay, Morgan Schneiderlin, Matteo Darmian, Ashley Young and Juan Mata have all promoted the movie.

United did not formally announce the partnership, since the studio preferred the club's players - and ambassadors Bryan Robson and Andy Cole - to endorse the film on social media.
