The survivors were transferred to another vessel when it sank in the middle of the night.

The husband of a gospel singer, who was found dead in a private hotel in Benin, Edo State, Mr. Odion Omoarebokhae, has accused the senior pastor of a Pentecostal church, identified as Apostle Psalm Okpe, of allegedly killing his wife, Yvonne Omoarebokhae.

Odion, a transporter who dismissed the speculation that his wife died of cardiac arrest, alleged that she could have been given an overdose of an unknown substance in the hotel room and left to die.

Efrem Izmailov, 39, a Russian policeman, raped three women and and slept with another eight to deliberately infect them with HIV, Russian investigators claim.

He gave lifts to women in his car, showing them his police ID, and in one case he sexually attacked a female victim in the presence of her young son.

He faces up to 15 years in a Russian prison colony if convicted.
The alleged rapist – infected with HIV since 2001 – was caught after retiring from the traffic police force in the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad on the Baltic.

Ecuador-earthquake 
At least 238 people have been confirmed dead, with hundreds more injured after a 7.8-magnitude quake rocked the central coast of Ecuador, Sky News reports.

A state of emergency had been declared in six provinces and the government said the death toll was expected to rise.
Ricardo Peñaherrera of Quito’s emergency management office said no fewer than 1,500 people were injured.

Brazil's lower house of Congress voted late Sunday to impeach President Dilma Rousseff, with at least 342 of 513 deputies voting in favor, to move her impeachment for fiscal irresponsibility forward. That threshold was passed shortly after 11 p.m. Brasília time Sunday, delivering a major blow to a long-embattled leader who repeatedly said there was a coup to remove her as president.
Rousseff is accused of mismanaging the federal budget to maintain spending and shore up support. She has said previous presidents used similar maneuvers and stressed that she has not been charged with any crimes or implicated in any corruption scandals.

These bulls are becoming quite a horn in the flesh. Barely days after 19-year-old Andres Roca Rey, 19 was impaled on a bull's horn, experienced bullfighter, Julian Lopez, 33, has suffered the same fate in the same bullring as Roca Rey. A bull pierced the matador, known as El Juli, with its right horn, forcing him to the ground in La Maestranza bullring.

According to Spanish media reports, Lopez was taken to hospital with a wound measuring 15 centimetres. Photographs show how he was lifted into the air as the bull launched the attack in front of shocked spectators.

On Wednesday, April 13, the 21-year-old was declared brain dead by a Zhejiang hospital, China, after a short battle with acute fatty liver of pregnancy (AFLP), a rare complication of pregnancy, for some fifty days. AFLP is a rare condition that affects 1 in 15,000 pregnancies, and normally occurs in the third trimester.

Two friends, 12 year old Arandari Paola Garcia and 17-year-old Mariana 'N' who were camping with their families on an isolated beach in Mexico, fell to their deaths after climbing onto dangerous rocks to take selfies.
Police say the friends who were from Mesa De Otay in Tijuana Mexico wanted to take pictures of the sea and climbed on to rocks at Rosarito in Baja California to take selfies.
