53 year old Nigerian woman, Halima Adejoke, was killed in a car crash in New Jersey on Saturday August 6th. According to police report, a box truck crashed into the driver's side of the sport utility vehicle she was driving in on Cottontail Lane in New Jersey. A preliminary investigation found the box truck, driven by 27 year old Walter Washington, was heading southbound on Cottontail Lane when it failed to maneuver around a turn, crossed the centerline and slammed into the Toyota.

A 90-year-old Dennis Port man,  Nicholas Salerno, was arrested for patronizing a prostitute after he called the police to report that the prostitute he spent the previous night with, had stolen from him. According to The Smoking Gun, the 90-year-old Massachusetts man solicited the services of one Karen Proia after his friend said she would give a blowjob for $100.
According to the Dennis Police Department report, the friend gave Salerno the number, and Salerno called Proia to his house.

At least 42 people were killed in a suspected suicide bombing inside the Civil Hospital in Quetta, Pakistan early this morning Monday August 8th. Over 30 people were injured in the attack

The Nigerian Football League Management Company has selected some top Nigerian league players from MFM FC, Nassarawa United, Wikki Tourists, Heartland FC etc to travel to Spain to undergo a tour of La Liga as part of the LMC's new partnership with the Spanish La Liga.

Generator fumes on Saturday killed a man identified by his neighbours as a policeman, and his lover, suspected to be a member of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Anambra State.

The name of the policeman could not be ascertained as of press time, but his lover’s name was given as Ifeoma.

Ifeoma, a mother of five and the policeman, a father of three, were found dead on Sunday, in an apartment at Ezinifite Okpuno, Awka-South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Iran's official news agency, IRNA, has confirmed on Sunday that Iran has executed a nuclear scientist who gave the U.S. intelligence about the country's contested nuclear program.
The agency quoted a spokesman for the Iranian judiciary, Gholamhosein Mohseni Ejehi, as confirming the execution of Shahram Amiri.

He said Amiri "provided the enemy with vital information of the country."

23-year-old Nigerian college student identified as Bella was allegedly stabbed by a gang of five while she was waiting for a cab at Hennur, India on July 31.
According to Bella, who sustained a stab injury on her hand, the incident happened when she and her female friends were waiting for an Ola cab near Challakere Bridge at Hennur at 11.30 pm on that fateful day.
A car suddenly came to a screeching halt in front of them and a group of men alighted from the vehicle. They allegedly tried to strike a conversation with them, but police said it was not clear from her complaint what the conversation was all about.

Three-time doubles champions and gold medalists, sisters Serena and Venus Williams lost an Olympic match as partners for the first time, by losing in the opening round of the Rio de Janeiro Games to Czech Republic's Lucie Safarova and Barbora Strycova by 6-3, 6-4.

A firefighter from the airport civil defence died saving lives during the firefighting operations after an Emirates aircraft caught fire while landing at Dubai International airport on Wednesday.

Jassim Eissa Mohammed Hassan Al Balochi was buried today in Al Salehiya cemetery, Ras Al Khaimah. Shaikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah attended the funeral.
