A 33 year-old engineer who murdered his girlfriend on Valentine's Day three years ago has been sentenced to death.
High Court Judicial Commissioner Collin Lawrence Sequerah said the accused, Cheong Teik Keon, was found guilty of killing Tan Ching Chin, 24, a clerk, was accused of committing the offence against Tan at her home at No. 2703, Taman Hwa Seng, Jalan Rozhan, Alma, in Bukit Mertajam, Malaysia, at about 8.40am on Feb 14, 2013.

In her novel Americanah, her protagonist, Ifemelu, starts a blog about race in America from her perspective as a Nigerian immigrant.

Contrary to initial reports, two persons were found dead and six unconscious under mysterious circumstances at a popular brothel known as 50-50 Bar, located at Uyo Street in Umuahia, the Abia State capital on Wednesday morning, September 28th. Six others, including the manager of the brothel were discovered unconscious and taken to the hospital where they are battling for their lives.

One of the last of a generation of Israeli politicians present at the new nation's birth in 1948, Shimon Peres died today, two weeks after suffering a major stroke. According to Peres' doctor Rafi Walden, the 93-year-old died in his sleep at around 3:00am

Suspected member of a kidnapping gang was nabbed yesterday in Aliade, Gwer East Local Government Area of Benue State by men of the Gwer East Community Joint Task Force (CJTF)
According to eyewitnesses account who spoke to IPN, the suspect identified as one Aondolumum Nyimkaan, went into Mt.St. Michael’s Nursery and Primary School, Aliade, and snatched the child, Msendo Liamuza.

One of Nigeria's foremost and prominent Disc jockeys, DJ Midas has died. DJ Midas, whose real name is Michael Adedoyin, died after a brief illness yesterday Tuesday September 27th.

Shortly before his death, DJ Midas worked with Silverbird's Rhythm FM. He joined the radio station in1998 as a pioneer and regular DJ host. He was in his 40s. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

The Man (pictured) allegedly got stuck while attempting to steal building materials from a site in Akwa Ibom state. Narrating what happened, Facebook user Dominic Esifa said:
"Residents of Esuk Oro, Oron woke up this morning to meet this man Effiong from Udung Okung stuck to building materials he was attempting to steal in a site. Governor Masari, who was on his way back from Adua immediately ordered vehicles on his convoy, to convey the injured to the hospital.
