Paint manufacturing company, Berger Paints, today June 19th sacked all members of its staff. The mass sack comes after a 2-week strike action. The workers had embarked on strike over the new living wage policy of the company where none of them would be entitled to gratuity upon retirement and what was supposed to be gathered as their gratuity overtime, would now be added to their monthly salary.

Eight notorious kidnappers terrorizing Abuja-Kaduna expressway have been arrested.

The suspects and their gang leader were arrested by operatives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris Intelligence Response Team (IRT) at the weekend.
Recovered from the suspects are various automatic assault rifles, magazines, cutlasses and charms.

A Detroit mother accused of killing two of her children appeared in court on Monday where she pleaded guilty then went ahead to say that she is not sorry for her actions.

Mitchelle Blair, 36, pleaded guilty to killing her 13-year-old daughter Stoni Blair and nine-year-old son Stephen Berry in Wayne County Court in Michigan. 
The bodies of the children were discovered in March, in a deep freezer at Blair's home as she was being served an eviction notice by court officers. Blair said she killed them because they sexually abused their younger brother who is now 8-years-old.

A member of a notorious phone and bag snatching gang was apprehended at the Ime-Obi area in Agbor, Delta state on Saturday night, June 17.
The 22-year-old suspect, Chijioke Kanu and his gang members attacked a young girl, snatched her bag and tried to flee on their motorcycle. However, luck ran out on him when a member of Agbor Gha Ihun security group, who coincidentally was at the spot of the incident, heard the shout of the victim and gave the bag snatchers a chase with his car.

Friday Paul, who is an orphan, went to live with his uncle and his immediate family in a room apartment at 6, Anjolarin Street, Odogunyan, Ikorodu, after his parents died about two years ago.

A pregnant woman was crushed to death by an approaching Airport Rail Link train at Ban Thap Chang Station in Bangkok, Thailand on Monday morning, June 19.
The victim identified as Rossarin Plianla fell onto the tracks of the Airport Rail Link at about 7am, just as a train was arriving. She was immediately hit by the train and died instantly. She was six months pregnant.

Southern California authorities confirm that three company workers have been arrested in the theft of up to $300,000 worth of avocados. The Ventura County Sheriff's Department says they were arrested last week and charged with grand theft of fruit and are jailed for lack of $250,000 bail each.

This is really sad! Tim Hague, a former UFC fighter known as "The Thrashing Machine," died Sunday, just two days after he was critically injured when he was knocked out in a boxing match against former Edmonton Eskimos defensive end Adam Braidwood.

 A retired police officer, Christopher Archibong has been arrested and detained at the Mbukpa Police station for allegedly raping a 9-year old girl in Calabar, Cross River State.
Speaking to CrossRiverWatch, the mother of the victim, Mrs. Peace Edem Okon said she had gone to the market and left instructions with the victim to wash the clothes of her siblings and upon her return discovered that something foul had happened.

The lifeless body of a taxi driver suspected to have been killed by carjackers was on Monday morning retrieved by the police at the Pentecost University College Park at Sowutuom in Accra.
The deceased appeared to have been stabbed severally by the unknown attackers and left in a pool of blood.

A UK based young man is currently hospitalized after he suffered second degree burns in an acid attack at his home. According to someone who knows him and shared a photo from his hospital bed, it was a supposed female friend, who connived with thieves to steal £6,000 from him, that was responsible for the gruesome attack.

"In the early hours of Sunday 11th June, my friend was setup by a female 'friend' named, Xinia, to be robbed in his home.

A man from Taita Taveta County, Mombasa in Kenya has been arrested after he mercilessly assaulted his 67-year-old father to death for failing to pay his mother’s dowry.
According to Wundanyi OCPD, Benjamin Muhia, he told Nairobi News that the deceased, Wilmont Mwawasi, was beaten to death by his son after a short argument over unpaid dowry to his mother who died 12 year’s ago.
“We have arrested the suspect and we intend to arraign him in court after investigations are completed,” Mr. Muhia said.

A Colorado father, Staff Sgt. Garon Vega, saved his two-year-old son's life after he recognized the symptoms of dry drowning after reading a news story about another boy's tragic death. Vega says he immediately took his 2 year old son, Gio, to the emergency room after watching Frankie Delgado's family speak out about the death of their 4 year old son, Little Frankie, who died a week earlier.
Frankie, died on June 3, six days after he inhaled water while swimming with his family in Texas.

A 22-year-old farmer, Joshua Tei, has been declared wanted by the police in the Suhum Municipality in Ghana, for allegedly chopping off his girlfriend's hand over suspicion of cheating.
According to Daily Guide, the incident occurred at about 7:30 pm on Saturday at Aponoapono, a farming community in the Eastern Region.
