To Joel Okwuchukwu (11), Chisom Okwuchukwu (9), and Esther Okwuchukwu (7), Black Sunday might indeed have been the worse day of their lives, and they may be forever marred by it, if quick steps are not taken to help them
Governor Fashola saw this children wandering the area of the plane crash and spoke with them, and they revealed to the Lagos state governor that they were resident with their parents Mr. Jeremiah Okwuchukwuand Mrs. Josephine Okwuchukwu at 12, Olaniyi Street, Iju, and had been sent on an errand few minutes before the tragic event happened ,the young kids got back to what they used to call home now transformed into a plane crash site, where bodies were being removed from.
The children were obviously confused and traumatised and were still unsure of the whereabouts of their parents, said they spent the night with neighbours but returned to the site early in the morning hoping to locate them.
Governor Fashola, moved by the plight of these children, took them in one of the vehicles in his convoy to the State House, Ikeja, where they will be taken care of until relatives of the children show up.
It can be recalled that yesterday afternoon, a Dana Airlines aircraft with 153 passengers on board, crashed at the Iju/Ishaga area of the state, killing all the passengers and 10 other people on the ground while the ill-fated aircraft destroyed 3 houses as it fell to the ground.
