Ethiopian marathon runner dies, four others seriously injured in a road accident in Addis Ababa

A group of Ethiopian distance runners were hit by a truck while out running in Sululuta, north of Addis Ababa, on Saturday, March 26th. A total of nine people were injured, five seriously, including one fatality. Yonas Mekonnon of Rehoboth Athletics, agent for the group says the following people were the most injured;

Ashagre Girma-25-years-old. Deceased
Damtew Tilahum -24. Severe head and neck injury
Tamrat Worku- 28. Broken leg. He ran a 62:29 PR for the marathon in Jaipur, India, on January 25. Teshome Hailu- 27. Broken leg and left hand.
Ashebir-24. Broken leg
