ELECTRONIC COPY- Before It Is Too Late : A Letter Of Appeal To A Deceitful, Lying And Destructive President Jonathan

Posted: December 12, 2013 - 04:43

December 2, 2013
His Excellency,
Dr. Goodluck E. Jonathan, GCFR
President and Commander-in-Chief
of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,
Presidential Villa,
Asokoro, Abuja.

Dear Mr. President,

I am constrained to make this an open letter to you for a number of reasons. One, the current situation and consequent possible outcome dictate that I should, before the door closes on reason and promotion of nation interest, alert you to the danger that may be lurking in the corner. Two, none of the four or more letters I have written to you in the past two years or so has elicited neither an acknowledgement nor any response. Three, people close to you, if not yourself, have been asking, what does Obasanjo want? Four, I could sense a semblance between the situation that we are gradually getting into and the situation we fell into as a nation during the Abacha era. Five, everything must be done to guard, protect and defend our fledgling democracy, nourish it, and prevent bloodshed. Six, we must move away from advertently or inadvertently dividing the country along weak seams of North-South and Christian-Moslem. Seven, nothing should be done to allow the country to degenerate into economic dormancy, stagnation or retrogression. Eight, some of our international friends and development partners are genuinely worried about signs and signals that are coming out of Nigeria. Nine, Nigeria should be in a position to take advantage of the present favourable international interest to invest in Africa – an opportunity that will not be open for too long. Ten, I am concerned about your legacy and your climb-down which you alone can best be the manager of, whenever you so decide.

Jay Z celebrates 44 by going vegan

Jay Z celebrates 44 by going vegan

If you want to help Jay Z celebrate his 44th birthday, send him a link to a vegan recipe.

Over on his website, the entrepreneurial rapper and mogul has announced that he's going vegan as he turns 44 on December 4.

"Psychologists have said it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. On the 22nd day, you’ve found the way," Jay "no hypen" Z writes on Life + Times. "On December 3rd, one day before my 44th birthday I will embark on a 22 Days challenge to go completely vegan, or as I prefer to call it, plant-based!! This all began a few months back when a good friend and vegan challenged me to embrace a 'plant-based breakfast' every day. It was surprisingly easier on me than I thought."
While Jay tells his fans to follow the advice of his "friend Marco" - a.k.a., Marco Borges of 22 Days Nutrition - when it comes to adopting a plant-based diet, we can't help but wonder if Carter family friend Gwyneth Paltrow helped influence this decision. After all, the GOOP founder and BFF of Jay's wife Beyoncé recently wrote a cookbook about how to eat well while eliminating certain foods. (As it turns out, Mrs. Carter will also embrace veganism for the next 22 days along with her husband.)
"There’s something spiritual to me about it being my 44th birthday and the serendipity behind the number of days in this challenge; 22 (2+2=4) coupled with the fact that the challenge ends on Christmas day," Jay says of the challenge's timing. "It just feels right! So you can call it a spiritual and physical cleanse. I will post my progress ... Any professional vegans out there that have any great food spots please help out!"
Have some vegan-friendly suggestions? Jay's Twitter account is @S_C_.

Rita Dominic And Charles Novia In Twitter War

Nollywood star actress, Rita Dominic and prolific producer, Charles Novia, are right now engaged in a serious Twitter war of words over comments Novia made on her.
Known for his scathing criticism of celebrities, Charles Novia had, yesterday, released a list of his top five actresses in Nigeria for the year 2013 and on the list, he placed Rita Dominic as number five.
This placement seemed not to go down well with Rita. The actress who just won the Best of Nollywood Award as the Best Supporting Actress in English for the movie ‘Finding Mercy’, the same film Novia said she did not perform well and had used in rating her, came out firing from all cylinders, putting down the respected producer cum director.
Read Rita fiery tweet:
“Check that Charles has not drowned himself. BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS ENGLISH (BONAwards): Rita Dominic for ‘Finding Mercy’."

Charles Novia took it with the calmness of a gentleman and replied her thus:
“Dear Rita Dominic: I am still alive and won't die for a looong time. My opinion of your role in Finding Mercy still persists. Congrats.”
Who will blink first in this interesting battle?

Barack Obama - Mandela Makes Me Want To Be A Better Man

US President Barack Obama pays tribute to the fallen Hero in Johannesburg

Obama And Nelson Mandela

US President Barack Obama has just shared his deepest thoughts and memories of the Late Great Nelson ‘Madiba’ Mandela at the ongoing Mandela Memorial in Johannesburg South Africa. The second most powerful man in the world compared Madiba to legends like Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr. and Mahatma Ghandi all in one speech and he will like ‘to live  and achieve’ like his hero Mandela.
President Obama made mention of so many things but was so keen on Mandela’s fight for justice, change, love and peace in the world and not just for the people of South Africa. “Mandela thought us all about the power of ideals, the importance of reasoning, the oneness of humanity and was a very practical human being.” He said in his speech.
Obama further acknowledged the essence of Mandela’s rise to international recognition saying “he was not afraid to compromise for the sake of a larger goal and he was true to his vision of protecting the minority and the majority as well”. He said, “he was a fair man and changed all hearts, those he inspired and now it’s time for us to celebrate a good life.
Although, “it takes a man like Nelson Mandela to be not only a prisoner but a jailer as well,” President Obama urged the entire world to take Mandela’s legacy and integrity to change the world, “it’s a time for self-reflection. It’s time to ask ourselves ‘how well have I taken his lessons’ into my life?” he added “Madiba showed we can change and we too can make it in this life through his lessons”.
Obama ended his 20+ minute tribute by saying “We’ll never see the likes of Nelson Mandela. He makes me want to be a better man…we will miss him deeply.”
May God bless the memory of Nelson Mandela.
