Mass killing of school children at the Federal Government College in the Buni Yadi area of Yobe was shrouded in mystery after reports revealed that only male students were killed. 
 
 
It has been learnt, however that the extremists intentionally spared the female students.
According to the officials, female students at the co-ed school were spared – and that the attackers instead told them to go home and get married and to abandon their Western education (Boko Haram – meaning “against Western education”).
It would be recalled that the attackers set a locked dormitory on fire in the early hours of Tuesday.
The terrified students escaped through the windows, they were shot and their throats were slit. Some were burned to ashes.
The massacre was followed by violent reactions by Nigerians and top politicians, urging the authorities to put an end to bloodshed in the country.

A student of University of Ibadan was raped and killed in on February 19th 2014 in a home she shares with her sister at Opeyemi street, Gbagi in Ibadan.
  
27-year-old Taiwo Omolara Shittu, a 500 level student of the Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management was found dead lying lifeless in a pool of blood at about 5:30 p. m that day.

Her sister returned from work to meet her dead with her pants down to her ankle and machete wounds in her head.

The murder weapon, a machete reportedly belonging to the man that cuts grass for them, was found in the room with blood stains.

According to reports, the labourer, Alakia Adenubi has been arrested in connection with the crime.

Adenubi has denied involvement with the murder of Shittu. The case has been transferred to the State CID.

On Tuesday Feb 11th, 20 young women were abducted by Boko Haram members after a raid at the village of Konduga in Borno State. 2 weeks later, nothing has been heard about the abducted women.

Former VP Atiku Abubakar took to twitter some hours ago asking the President to show concern about the missing women. Security agencies aren't saying anything. Are they even looking for them?
 

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed the appointment of Emmanuel Amunike as the new head coach of the Nigerian male Under-17 national team, the Golden Eaglets. 
This disclosure was made by the head of the NFF’s technical committee, Emmanuel Ikpeme who stated that that Amunike’s appointment was borne out of the need for continuity, since Amunike was an assistant to Manu Garba who led the Golden Eaglets to win the World championship last year. ..culled from vanguard

Former Abia State Governor, Uzor Kalu, has gone into hiding occasioned by the warrant of arrest against him, issued by the US government over the murder one of his girl friends in Kalu's house in USA few years ago. 

It will be recalled that Kalu was accused of the murder of his mistress in his Portomarc mansion after several rounds of "enjoyment" with the lady who is said to be a shop attendant in the US.

Soul singer Praiz did the most incredible thing recently. He raised N10million for a little girl with a hole in the heart, Somaya Olayinka Dahli. Somaya had a successful surgery late last year to close the hole in her heart, but needed money for post-surgery care.

Praiz offered 100% of his one-month revenue from the sales of his callertune, Oshe, to the little girl. The money was presented to the girl and her parents two weeks ago. How nice of him!

The vehicle was later recovered at Onuebum community waterfront. The Deputy Commander, JTF, Commodore Ime Ekpa and a team of security agents have visited the location to assess the crime scene.”

The Convener of the Save Nigeria Group, Tunde Bakare, has accused the President Goodluck Jonathan-led federal government of selective justice in the suspension of Lamido Sanusi, the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

In his sermon on Sunday in Lagos, Mr. Bakare said the suspended CBN governor was a victim of delayed whistle blowing, adding that he ought to have spoken out during the 2012 fuel subsidy fraud crisis.

 Friday Ejeh was one of the inmates freed during Tuesday’s prison decongestion exercise by the Ondo State judiciary. He was imprisoned for over eight years for a murder committed by his brother,

The expression on the face of Friday Ejeh was pale and although not sickly, he cut the picture of a famished person who had gone through many years of starvation.
Ejeh spent eight years, nine months and four days at the Olokuta Medium Prison, Akure, for a crime committed by his brother who is still at large.....OMG

She further revealed that she may be considering getting married again if the opportunity come.....
