Marilyn Ogar, the spokesperson for the Department of State Security Services (SSS) said yesterday that 21 detained terrorists died during the attempted jailbreak at the Service's headquarters in Abuja on Sunday morning.

"Following our earlier releases, it has been established that eighteen (18) casualties were recorded, while two (2) Service personnel sustained serious injuries. Three (3) other detainees who sustained gunshot injuries during the incident have also died.

"Meanwhile, investigation is still ongoing to ascertain the immediate and remote causes.

"We wish to state that the roads leading to the office were cordoned-off to prevent possible assistance from external collaborators. During this period, the precinct of the office and adjoining neighborhoods were thoroughly searched.

Actor Joseph Benjamin was a guest on Rubbin Minds yesterday Sunday March 30th where he opened up about his divorce. When the host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, asked him if he was finally divorced, the father of two said he was 'working on it.'

Ebuka also took him up on rumours of violence and infidelity being the reason for his separation, Benjamin said it wasn't true. What he said below...

"A lot was misconstrued and I will not hold anyone responsible for it because everyone is entitled to their opinion and for me I believe that when you embark on a journey like that, it is something that, it requires the two people involved to have a certain form of understanding. Let me go a bit spiritual with you here, the Bible says can two work if they do not agree? So there should be some form of agreement. You guys should have this certain joint that kind of links you up together and if to an extent its not there and one feels that there is a need for you to like maybe, move on, lets be matured about this, let things go in a very calm and subtle manner. So that's basically it. I would say that (this is on a bid to being very particular of what I say) because that is how it was misconstrued. So for me that is what informed the decision and I would say because I am on national television that there was no form of violence. There was no report of infidelity. She is an amazing person, I give her that credit, I would always say that because I am not one who would talk down any human being" he said.

Boko Haram militants detained at the State Security Services facility in Abuja took over the complex for over six hours after disarming SSS agents guarding the facility.

The audacious action of the detainees led to  prolonged negotiations that later  resulted to shootings at the complex for over 4 hours, an SSS sources told Saharareporters.

The gunfight at the complex known as “Yellow House” caused panic in Abuja as the complex sits close to the Presidential Villa and one of the most fortified area in the national capital.
Soldiers and the air force counterparts were drafted in some few hours later to bring the insurrection under control. Our source did not reveal how many SSS agents or detainees were killed or injured in the process what the SSS later described as an  "attempted jailbreak.". However, helicopter gunships hovers over the affected area as at the time of publishing this report.

Fierce Lady Gaga turned heads yet again when she showed up in this
typical Gagaesque outfit for her 28th birthday party after party.
Bearing angel wings and a tinsel-like leotard, Gaga seemed composed as
she tottered along on massive pink platforms, unfortunately disaster
soon struck.

After hours of partying at a small bar, the hitmaker took a tumble in
her massive shoes and was spotted falling to the ground after stumbling
on a step. Gaga tried to quickly get back up by holding on to the

doorway but was hampered by her huge shoes.

Sophia Tchidi Chikere (pictured left) has reacted to the statement released yesterday by actress Nuella Njubigbo who claimed she only started dating the movie director after his marriage to Sophia packed up. Sophia says this is absolutely not true.

Speaking exclusively with LIB, Sophia said she didn't know about the impending wedding until she read it here. She also said she initially found the news hard to believe because she and Tchidi are not formally divorced yet.

Reacting to Nuella's comments that the affair with Tchidi only started after his marriage ended, Sophia says it's a blatant lie, that Nuella started dating Chidi long before their marriage ended, and actually blamed Nuella for the demise of her marriage that produced three boys.

This is actually the first time Sophia will comment on this issue since her separation from Tchidi in 2012. Find what she said exclusively to LIB after the cut...

From Hollywood Life

In a bid to stop the State House of Assembly from summoning the
helmsman at the Nassarawa State Independent Electoral Commission for
questioning, the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the
state, Mr. Innocent Lagi, scaled the fence of the Assembly complex after
been denied access into the complex by security men stationed at the
complex.
Mr Lagi had wanted to pass to the house leadership a court
injunction restraining them from summoning the states electoral chairman
for questioning on electoral matters in the state. Before he got to the
House premises, the electoral chairman and his commissioners had already
answered to the summon by the House.

After jumping the fence, the commissioner was detained for about 40 minutes at the Assembly’s
security post before he was taken away in an armored personnel carrier .

Omg, this is so hilarious. So some  Nollywood actors where in Ghana last week for

The Edo State Commissioner for Sports, Chris Okaeben, engaged in a street brawl with officials of War Against Indiscipline in Benin on Monday March 24th after the WAI officers apprehended a vehicle belonging to Captain Hosa Okunbor, for violating traffic light by Hexagon junction along Airport road.

According to eye-witnesses, the driver of Captain Okunbor's SUV pulled over and told the WAI officials that the SUV belonged to a leader and that they had no right to apprehend the vehicle even if he drove through a red light.

When the WAI officials insisted on taking the car to the office for prosecution, the driver put up a heavy resistance and started making calls. Within 10 minutes the Commissioner for Sports Chris Okaeben drove down with some armed policemen and started fighting the WAI officials. Fortunately a passerby recorded the street brawl on his phone. According to a report by Sahara Reporters, a Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, today nullified the collection of any toll or tariff on the Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge.

Ruling on the suit, which was filed by human rights lawyer, Ebun Adegboruwa, presiding judge, Justice Saidu, J. held that the power of control over all navigable waterways in Nigeria resides in the Federal Government, and not any state government.

He held that from all the documents made available to the court, the only justification for the toll fee on the bridge by Lagos State is the private partnership law.

However, he noted that the law could not apply to the Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge since it was built with the money of the Lagos State Government, without the involvement of any private partnership.

“Thus, since there is no law supporting the toll fee, it is illegal and should be stopped forthwith”, Justice Saidu said.
