The couple have since postponed their wedding, which was initially scheduled for this weekend April 12th.  President Obama’s aunt, Zeituni Onyango, who won asylum in 2010 after living illegally in Boston for several years, died on Monday night in a nursing home in the city, her legal team said.



The law office of Margaret W. Wong, one of Onyango’s immigration lawyers, confirmed on Tuesday that she died the night before in her sleep at the Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation Harborlights facility in South Boston.

Onyango, 61, had taken ill in January and suffered from breast cancer and respiratory problems, Wong and a relative said. Information on funeral arrangements was not available.
The White House had no comment on Onyango’s passing. She was a native of Kenya and moved to South Boston in 2000, Wong’s office said. She was the half-sister of Obama’s late father.

A receptionist at the South Boston nursing home where Onyango died said on Tuesday that no one was available to speak with the media.culled

Faith Elizabeth Sakwe who got married to her high school sweetheart, Godswill Osim Edward traditionally on the 5th of April, in President Jonathan’s hometown, Otuoke received 80 cars as wedding gift from dignitaries.
Sources from Bayelsa State, disclosed that all the PDP governors and dignitaries who came to the wedding ceremony of the heavily pregnant Faith Sakwe and her darling husband, Godswill Osim Edward who hails from Cross River State gave a car each.
It was also revealed that the dignitaries who attended were all from PDP, and that none came from APC. I wonder how many cars it would have been if our ogas at the top in APC attended? It is just wonderful, i must say.
What more can a bride and her groom ask for? Faith Sakwe and Godswill Osim Edward are really lucky people, but i would rather call them, blessed people.

God, give this guy strength. Looks like they are trying to lock him up this time. Chris Brown was loaded onto a con-air flight to D.C. last Thursday to face misdemeanor assault charges for attacking a fan back in October but didn't get there until late yesterday, (the plane stops in different cities to pick other prisoners) making him miss his first hearing.

In his absence, a judge rejected his request to dismiss his case on the grounds that the prosecution unlawfully took the case before a grand jury, meaning his case is moving forward.

According to reports, after Chris Brown arrived D.C yesterday, he was transferred to the Northern Neck Regional Jail in Warsaw, Virginia where he will stay until the start of his trial on April 17th.

 The interim  Chairman of  All Progressives Congress(APC)for  Ward  9 in Umuogerem  Obibi, Etche in Etche Local Government  Area of Rivers State, Mr. Chimezie  Anucha, has  been assassinated.  He was   shot  dead   at  Achara  Obibi,  between  7 and 8 am  on   Sunday, April 6.
A source  disclosed   how   the victim  who was living in Port Harcourt,  was phoned  earlier in the day, and  the caller  requested  that  he  should  come to  Achara  for  a business  deal.The victim,  who was  also Chairman  of  Community Development Committee(CDC),   was  driving     to  his village,  in  his Lexus  Sport Utility Vehicle(SUV),   before  he  had  a  flat  tyre  close  to  Achara, where  the purported  business  transaction was   to take place.

30 year old Nwode Chukwudi Awam, was arrested last week for beheading his father, 56 year old Michael Awam and eating his neck. The
Ebonyi State Police Command, who paraded the killer on Thursday April 3rd, said the incident occurred at Egwudinagu Obegu village in Ebonyi LGA of the state.
"When
the police went for him, he was waving the machete which he used to cut
his father’s head and threatening to kill anybody that gets close to
him. He was overpowered all the same. He ate the neck’

poor working conditions at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, as well as to compel the LUTH
management to expunge certain clauses in the appointment letters of new
resident doctors.

 A ferry carrying 28 people last night around 8.30 capsized in a Lagoon in Majidun area of Ikorodu in Lagos, leaving 8 people dead, 12 rescued and 6 yet to be accounted for. Most of the occupants of the boat were working class people who were heading back home after the close of work.

The ferryboat which belong to Bell Marine Company began its journey from Ebute-Ero under the Eko Bridge around 6pm and headed for Ikorodu when it hit a rock and capsized.

Ibrahim Farinloye, Spokeperson for National Emergency Management Authority, Southwest Zone, confirmed the incident and said that NEMA officials and Naval Officers as well as local divers are patrolling the Lagoon to find the remaining six unaccounted occupants.

This incident is happening just two weeks after a boat capsized in Festac Town Lagos were 13 people reportedly died.

 Surrounded by grinning, bikini-clad girls, Richard Stabler looked as though he is having the time of his life as an expatriate in Dubai but the high-flying British executive is about to be forced to swap the yacht for a prison cell – after falling foul of the country’s strict Islamic laws.



Company director Stabler, 33, has been sentenced to seven months in a Dubai jail and deportation thanks to an alcohol-fuelled argument that saw him streak naked through his apartment block.


 The businessman had polished off eight glasses of rum during a pre-Christmas knees-up at the five-star Le Meridien Mina Seyahi hotel when he started to fight with some of his friends.
The row continued when the group got back to his upmarket beachside apartment on the Palm Jumeirah – a manmade island shaped like a palm tree – and Stabler stripped off in what a court was later told was a ‘naked protest’.


A security guard from his building, who gave evidence at Dubai’s Court of Misdemeanours, said: ‘He was making noise and arguing with the other security guards  

The guard claimed that Stabler – nicknamed ‘The Stabiliser’  by his friends – went on to  walk through the apartment’s reception area wearing only  his underwear.
When the guard tried to calm him down, Stabler pushed him to one side and ran up the stairs, where he proceeded to ‘cause chaos’.

According to witnesses. Stabler – who has been running recruitment agency Binding Partnerships with fellow Briton James Binding for four years – was then said to have tried to hide behind a gate.

 While he managed to avoid the maximum penalty of three years in jail, the judge decided to sentence him to six months in jail for indecency and one month for drinking – a warning to British expatriates to observe the United Arab Emirates’ Islamic laws. Drinking alcohol carries a maximum jail term of up to six months, although judges recently have opted to issue fines.


He will be deported as soon as he has completed his sentence.culled
