The Director of Media and Publicity of the PDP Presidential Campaign, Femi Fani Kayode, has responded to the article penned down by former CBN governor, Prof. Charles Soludo. For criticizing president Jonathan's economic policies, FFK said Soludo is confused and has lost touch with reality.


According to Punch, FFK said he would be gentle with Soludo because of the soft spot he has for him

"Soludo has criticised the President, his government and his handling of the economy. Meanwhile Nigeria has just won the prestigious award of being designated as the largest economy in Africa and this has happened under the watch of Pres. Jonathan and no-one else. Should any right-thinking person, who has the nation’s interest at heart be complaining about that? Needless to say my friend and brother Charles Soludo is confused and conflicted. He seems to have lost touch with reality and this is what often happens when you spend too much time with the Buharists. I pray that sooner than later, he comes to his senses and he sees the light." The National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), says the Federal Government is planning to introduce a law that will ban and block all porn websites in the country. He stated this at the closing ceremony of a three-day workshop on use of social media organised for Islamic preachers, Imams and youths in Kaduna on Sunday.

“Government is planning to ban and block websites that inculcate negative attitudes in our children but we need a law to support such move. Because without a law, people can go to court and claim infringement on their rights.”

President Jonathan worshiped at Living Faith Church a.k.a Winners Chapel in Canaanland, Ota today January 25th for their thanksgiving service after their 21 days fasting period.

There's been a lot of controversy over what Pastor Oyedepo really said to GEJ at the service. While some said pastor Oyedepo said "We will open the gate of hell on those who oppose you", members of the church who said they were there said what Oyedepo actually said was "All those opposing and against the peace of Nigeria, God would open the gates of hell to them". Some members of President Jonathan's campaign group who followed him to Borno state on Saturday January 24th are reportedly stranded in the state following yesterday's attack on Maiduguri and some villages by members of Boko Haram. The delegates are said to have waited behind after the President's campaign.

Meanwhile 9 soldiers and a little over 50 members of Bko haram died during the attacks. The curfew which was placed on Maiduguri by the Military is to be lifted later today

According to reports, members of Boko Haram sect have captured Monguno village in Borno state after attacking the area very early this morning. They also attempted to attack the state capital, Maiduguri, but was repelled by the Nigerian military. There's a 24-hour curfew there right now.

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has sounded a note of warning to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari over unprovoked attacks on the campaign train of President Goodluck Jonathan in some parts of the north.

The governor said; "We will no longer tolerate any orhestrated attack on Pesident Jonathan and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party anywhere in the country."

The Sultan of Sokoto told president Jonathan during his visit in the state that he's yet to get his PVC. Lagos State governor Raji Fashola also revealed yesterday that he's also yet to get his. During a rally in Ajeromi Local Government yesterday, he explained why;

“I have tried many times but I have not been able to get my PVC. Even the Sultan of Sokoto is yet to collect his PVC. I have been fighting them because of the shoddy way the voters registration went on in Lagos. I know that many people have not been able to get theirs, but I urge people not to relent. Everyone should go to the wards where they registered to get their PVCs. Even if you don’t get it on the first day, do not relent till you get it.” he said.
