The Council of State meeting has officially ended with members resolving not to postpone the 2015  general election scheduled for Feb. 14th.

Briefing newsmen after the meeting, Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha, said;
“It was one of an unusual Council of State meeting that took over 7 hours deliberating on a very sensitive issue as to whether INEC is prepared for the elections or not and whether there is need for the change of dates of these elections. INEC has said they are very ready to conduct these elections and the security agencies have shown concerns about certain local governments where they have security challenges. But INEC has the power to conduct elections including fixing dates of elections.
The Council rose that INEC should then inform the nation as to their preparedness and proceed to conduct the elections. The Council has asked INEC to perform its civic responsibility which is to conduct election. That is what we rose to agree. It was a very challenging moment and INEC has reaffirmed severally that they are ready. But because of the concerns of the security agencies in few local governments, Council asked INEC to go and perform its civic responsibility. There is no decision as to change of dates or postponement at all…. Jega has reassured us that they are equal to the task. In fact, they are more prepared than they were in 2011.” he said

Speaking to newsmen in Abuja today, the DG of the National Orientation Agency and Coordination of the National Information Center, Mr Mike Omeri, said they got intelligence report that female suicide bombers are planning to attack polling booths during Feb. election
"Recent intelligence reports indicate that some unscrupulous Nigerians have perfected plans to surreptitiously collect, buy or steal the permanent voter cards (PVCs) of female voters, handover same to female suicide bombers and create access for them into polling centres where they will detonate bombs and kill unsuspecting voters. “By this information, therefore, Nigerians, especially female voters, are warned to remain vigilant and also jealously guard and preserve their PVCs to avoid the possibility of their being lost to these bad elements who will put them to untoward uses.” Omeri said

She is beautiful and warm, kind, caring and loving."' he said on the show as shocked audience listened.

The PDP has refuted claims by governor Rotimi Amaechi that its party paid some Nigerian pastors N6billion to discredit APC and its Presidential candidate. At a conference press held in Abuja yesterday, PDP Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh called on Governor Amaechi to produce evidence of any pastor collecting bribe from PDP
"We are shocked that APC Campaign could impugn the character of Pastors and I dare say that this is ungodly; it is a sin against God. We challenge the DG of APC Campaign to state the facts; the pastors involved and where such huge sum of money can come from. This attack is capable of bringing Christians & Muslims into a major disagreement and major dispute. If truly the person who issued this state is a Catholic as he said, we are asking him to go for confession and seek God’s forgiveness" he said

“The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in which Nigeria, Niger, Cameroon, and Chad have contingents are part of the ongoing onslaught against terrorists in this region. The countries that make up the Lake Chad Basin Commission also had some understanding, which now enables a massive move against terrorists from all angles. Contrary to the impression being pushed in some quarters, it is the Nigerian forces that planned and are driving the present onslaught against terrorists from all fronts in Nigeria; not the Chadian Forces as is being propagated by some media.
For instance Chadian forces have been deployed in Baga Sola, which is a Chadian territory. There have been some joint deployments and patrols around Kirawa, Ashgashiya and other locations in borders of Cameroun, Nigeria and Chad as part of these operations. Chadians and others are however keying into and working in concert with the overall plan for an all-round move against the terrorists as agreed. Nigeria's territorial integrity remains intact".
