The Kaduna Refinery and Petrochemical company says it will begin 2 million liters of petroleum products today April 27th. According to the management of the company, the refinery will get its supply of crude from Escravos, Delta state and then begin refining immediately. This is part of efforts to increase the supply of fuel nationwide.

The trial of eight Nigerians and a Cambodian woman arrested on allegations of drug trafficking resumed at the Phnom Penh Municipal Court on Monday April 25, with police saying that the group worked together as team despite several of the defendants’ denials.

The Department of State Security DSS has arrested the Special Assistant to the Senate President on Youth and Student Matters and President of National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Barrister Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, according to a report by Vanguard.

The brother of Ugochinyere, Obinna Ikeagwuonu, released a statement, informing the public of his arrest. The statement in part reads;

The baby, Lamonthea Theus only 3-month-old but has already lost his hand after he was shot while sitting in his car seat early last Saturday morning in Kansas.

Nigerian academic, Prof. Abiodun Alao, will today deliver an inaugural lecture at King’s College, University of London. This would make him the first ever black African scholar to deliver such lecture since the institution was established back in 1829.
A professor of African Studies, Abiodun Alao was conferred with a professorial title about two years ago alongside his Nigerian counterpart in the institution’s African Leadership Centre - Prof. Funmi Olonisakin.

For refusing his marriage proposal, a man working with one of the leading Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) service providers, yesterday stabbed his lover to death in Tanke area of Ilorin, Kwara State.

The man also stabbed his girlfriend’s mother, who tried to settle the dispute between the two. The lady’s mother escaped death with serious injuries, while the lover lost her life.

"These two guy got in to the trap like fishes that has escaped hook severally but finally swallow the hook. Their shrine as it is contained in the pictures is based somewhere at Otakiti village, some miles away from Okinni town beside Osogbo. A Fire tragedy which could have destroyed an entire filling station was averted in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state. A car had stopped to buy fuel at an NNPC Mega Filling Station and the driver of the vehicle was reportedly buying fuel when the car suddenly exploded. It took the help of some concerned people around to put it out through sand and water.

Police colonel Andrey Gosht, 49, his wife Svetlana, 51, his 27 year old niece Svetlana Kurilas and his sister, Elena Gosht, 42 were all bludgeoned to death in a sickening contract killing.
Another niece, Sofia, 7, is seriously wounded in the head and abdomen, and is in a coma after being flown by emergency helicopter to hospital. The bloody scene was discovered by the colonel's brother, Evgeny, 44 after returning to his parents' home in Ivashevka village, Samara region.
