The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, yesterday April 28th arraigned the trio of Patience Owerema, Nwakoba N.Francisca and Okafor Kingsley before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy, abuse of office, forgery, impersonation and diversion of funds to the tune of N3, 766, 160.00 (three million, seven hundred and sixty-six thousand, one hundred and sixty naira).

Wife of President Buhari, Aisha Buhari, flagged off the Future Assured Initiative, Free Health Screening for Women, at the Loyola College, Ibadan, Oyo State today April 28th. Wife of Delta State Governor, Edith Okowa, Wife of Ogun State Governor, Olufunso Amosun, Wife of Osun State Governor, Sherifat Aregbesola, Wife of Edo state governor Iara Oshiomole and others were in attendance. The event  included free screening for over 2500 women on Breast Cancer, Cervical Examination, Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screening.

President Buhari says it is a matter of great concern to him that nearly two-thirds of states of the federation are still having difficulties with salary payments despite the bail-out funds provided to them by the Federal Government. Speaking at a meeting with members of the Nigeria Governor Forum at the Presidential Villa yesterday April 28th, President Buhari said that he was very disturbed by the hardship which state government workers across the country and their families were facing due to the non-payment of salaries.

According to new reports, North Korea's Kim Jong-un's secret "Pleasure Squad" includes schoolgirls as young as 13. The girls are allegedly picked at random by soldiers, sometimes the teenagers are picked from their own school and forced to serve a small military circle of North Korea's top social elite. These teenage girls are part of what is known as the leader’s Gippeumjo, or Pleasure Squad.

In line with his commitment to improve the welfare of the state workforce, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has approved the lump sum payment of leave allowance to all staff in the State’s mainstream Civil Service, Local Governments and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) with effect from May, 2016.
The State Head of Service, Mrs. Olabowale Ademola in a circular she issued on Thursday in Alausa, Ikeja, explained that the approval was sequel to agreements reached during a meeting with the Lagos State Public Service Joint Negotiating Council (JNC).

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has promised to ensure that the kidnappers of Senator Iyabo Anisulowo are arrested and brought to book. The governor stated this, on Thursday, when he visited the Sawonjo farmland of the former Minister. Senator Anisulowo was kidnapped at her farmland on Wednesday evening. Speaking when he visited the farmland, on Thursday, the governor said:

The 26-year-old victim, Patrice Price, was pronounced dead at the scene, the local sheriff's office said. The child, aged two and a half and identified by local media as a boy, fired the 40-calibre gun through the driver's seat where his mother was at the wheel.
