The Connecticut woman, Charla Nash, who underwent a face transplant five years ago after she was attacked by a chimpanzee is back in a Boston hospital after doctors discovered her body was rejecting tissue from the transplant. Dr. Bohdan Pomahac, director of plastic surgery transplantation at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, said Wednesday that Nash is experiencing a “moderate rejection episode” and the transplant is not in jeopardy.

Police investigating the murder of a young man five years ago has made two new arrests. The arrests today, Wednesday May 4, were made in the investigation into the fatal stabbing of Adeniyi Lateef Shode (known as Aden or Enda - pictured above) in Northoit in 2011.
Detectives from the Met's Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC) arrested a 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old man on suspicion of murder.

The Olympic torch flame has arrived in Brazil this morning for the start of a torch relay that will culminate with the opening of the Olympic Games in Rio in August. The torch was flown inside a small lantern on a special flight from the Swiss city of Geneva to Brazil and was lit by embattled President Dilma Rousseff.

A 40 year old man beat his ex-wife’s four-year-old son, Matheo to death after his ex wife, Yasmine, told him the child wasn't his. Jean-Charles Artaban killed the boy he thought was his son before decapitating him, feeding the head to dogs and then setting the remaining parts of his body on fire.

That was the scene that emergency services discovered upon arriving at Artaban’s house, after Yasmine had called them in a panicked voice to beg them to save her son.

A 30 year old Nigerian woman, Precious Enyioko, and her three children trapped on the fourth storey of a building in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, miraculously survived without injuries after they jumped from the building during a fire incident last weekend.

Precious dangled her baby through the window as smoke billowed from two floors below. This drew the attention of onlookers, who screamed and waved their hands as she held out her terrified one-year-old infant whose legs were kicking furiously before dropping her to the crowd.
