The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, this morning interrogated former APC Chieftain and ex Minister of Foreign Affairs over his alleged involvement in the $2.1 billion arms deal scandal. According to Sahara Reporters, the 72 years old politician was invited to the agency's headquarters in Abuja two days ago and was allowed to go home and come back the next day due to his health status.

President Buhari this morning signed the 2016 budget. He received a clean copy of the budget from the National Assembly yesterday May 5th. Buhari signed the budget in the presence of the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, and the chairmen of the National Assembly appropriation committees.

A housewife, Mrs. Josephine Onwuzuruike, and her boyfriend, Ekene Onyeka, were yesterday sentenced to death by hanging by Justice Benson Ogbuh of an Ebonyi State High Court.

Josephine and Onyeka had in 2008, at Azuiyiokwu in Abakaliki, the state capital butchered her husband and kept his parts inside a cupboard.

This young man was killed by a soldier's bullet who fired shots to disperse the warring traders of Ariaria market yesterday afternoon. According to eye witnesses, Igbo and Hausa traders began to fight after the Hausa man allegedly urinated in front of the Igbo man's shop.

A North Carolina woman, Gina Short, who has been battling breast cancer for 6 years and is still undergoing chemotherapy has won the lottery for the second time in less than three months.
In February, Gina won $1 million in the Ultimate Millions second-chance drawing which she said she was going to use to pay for her treatments. She said she was thankful for the lottery winnings because had been given a second chance to live. At that time she said:

A domestic-related shooting took place at about 6:10 am in front of a Las Vegas day care center which left a man and a woman dead on Thursday and their two young children hospitalized with gunshot wounds, Las Vegas Police say.

North Las Vegas police spokeswoman Ann Cavaricci said it was not clear who did the shooting, whether it was the mother or father who fired the shots or whether the 3-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy were shot deliberately.

A suicidal man who climbed an electric pole to commit suicide in Lagos today and refused all necessary help to rescue him, finally jumped down after 9hours and attempted to slit his throat. He was rescued and is currently at the hospital receiving treatment.

A Lagos resident sent the social media buzzing since 7:00am this morning after he climbed an electric pole in the Lekki area of the Island metropolis.

Troops of 7 Division based on information received, conducted a special operation at Chingurimi, Walasa and Masa villages which were believed to have large concentration of abducted women and children were held hostages by the Boko Haram terrorists on Wednesday 4th May 2016.

The troops killed quite a number of Boko Haram terrorists and rescued 17 women, an old man and 24 children at the area.

"Seven students from Kano lost their lives on Tuesday morning, along Ibadan–Lagos express way in a road accident, believed to have been caused by burst tyre.
The students, Ahmed Faisal, Kamal Muhammad and Abubakar Abdullahi, are from Kano Capital School while Umar Musa, Sani Musa, Ibrahim Sani and Yusuf Danladi came from Unity College, Karaye, in the state.

Members of the Senate yesterday May 4th, agreed to facilitate the process of enacting a law that will prescribe death penalty to anyone found guilty of kidnapping. At the house plenary, the senate prevailed on state governors to also enact laws that will prosecute anyone found guilty of kidnapping.
