Bayelsa state governor, Seriake Dickson, has expressed fears that a replay of the Odi massacre in the state in 1999 may happen if the militants in the state continue to kill soldiers. Just yesterday, three soldiers were killed by some militants in the state.

Over 100 people including women and children were killed after former President Obasanjo allegedly ordered the military to attack Odi people on November 20th 1999 following the killing of 12 soldiers by some militant in the state.

A male suicide bomber failed in his attempt to attack a mosque filled with Muslim faithfuls in Sulaimanti coummunity in the outskirts of Maiduguri, Borno state today.

A car bomb in a Shia district of Baghdad, Iraq has killed at least 50 people and wounded more than 60 others this morning according to reports by The Associated Press.

The SUV packed with explosives exploded near a beauty salon in a bustling busy market at rush hour in the Sadr City district. Most of the victims were women and many of the wounded are in critical condition, according to reports released by Iraqi forces to the Associated Press.

An Indian couple in their 70s welcomed their first baby into the world on April 19 with the help of a fertility treatment.

“It was very important for us,” 72-year-old Daljinder Kaur told Barcroft Media following her son’s birth. “I can live happily now. My life is complete.”
Kaur and her 79-year-old husband Mohinder Singh Gill who have been married for 47 years have been trying to conceive for two years.

The EFCC secured the conviction of a man named Godwin Nnam Okeke (Pictured) before Justice M. N. Yinusa of the Federal High Court sitting in Enugu. The convict, who had evaded arrest for several months, was eventually arrested last week and was arraigned five days after on a one-count charge bordering on obtaining by false pretence - the sum of N2.1million.

Jeremiah Igiri, a 26 year old driver, arranged with two of his friends to kidnap his employer’s 4 years old son and demanded a N20 million ransom from the boy's parents. When the boy went missing, Igiri was one of the people who helped his employers to 'search' for the boy unbeknownst to his employers that he was the mastermind behind their son's kidnap.

Igiri confessed to his madam that he was behind the kidnapping, when he was invited to the Police station for interrogation.  He was yesterday paraded by the Rivers State Police Command in Port Harcourt.
During his confession, Igiri said that this was his first kidnapping attempt. He said:
