In a statement issued by the acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, the Nigerian army has confirmed the retirement of some officers which include; Major Generals, Brigadier Generals, Colonels, Lieutenant Colonels and a Major. The statement reads,

The Nigerian Army wishes to inform the general public that quite a number of senior officers of the Nigerian Army were retired from service yesterday.

A decomposing body of a man is lying under Goodluck Jonathan Bypass, around 8 Miles, Calabar. According to CRW: "The body is rotten, swollen and stinking badly. It appears he has been here for over a week, and may have been killed because he has cuts on his hand, part of his head has something that looks like machete cut and it appears the back of his head is open.

Police say a Florida man, 49-year-old Joel Jones, allegedly raped a woman and then called 911 to turn himself in. When Police arrived to arrest him, he told them he wanted to go to prison to get even with a man who killed his 14 year old son.
The Palm Beach Post reports that the victim told police that Jones attacked her in August 2014 when she responded to an advert he placed asking for a cleaner for his offices.
