Suspected Boko Haram fighters yesterday killed 20 people who were attending the 40th day prayer for some deceased members of Kuda village in Adamawa state.

Residents of the village said some of them were gathered at their village square to celebrate their deceased kinsmen when the suspected sect members came in from Sambisa forest and opened fire on them. the terrorist destroyed some homes during the attack.

Two suicide bombers were killed by Civilian JTF at Kusari area near CBN Staff Quarters in Maiduguri, Borno state today June 17th. The suicide bombers were heading to a mosque to detonate the bombs strapped on them when they were stopped by some members of the state vigilante group. They were gunned down after they tried to escape while they were being questioned. A search carried out on them showed they had bombs strapped on their body.  *viewer discretion advised*

A baby girl born in Nagpur, Maharashtra is believed to be India’s first known case of Harlequin Ichthyosis –  a severe genetic disorder which leaves the entire body encased in armour-like thick white plates, separated by deep cracks leaving no skin on the body.
The child was born by caesarean section to a 23-year-old woman from the Indian city of Amravati at the Lata Mangeshkar Medical College and Hospital.

The EFCC today arraigned Usman Umar before Justice Idrisa Kolo of the Federal High Court, Kano, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining by false pretence. Umar, who is currently serving a four-year jail term for a separate offence for which he was prosecuted by the EFCC, was arraigned for allegedly defrauding Jibrin Umar. He is expected to finish the jail term on June 30th.
