A 26-year-old barber named Zuri, mysteriously passed away in Lagos after stepping out to sneeze but ended up vomiting blood. According to journalist Femi Owolabi, because of the amount of blood around the young man's body, the crowd which had gathered did not risk coming close and were unwilling to assist in taking him to the hospital. When a truck was eventually used to convey Zuri to a private hospital, they were not allowed to go in. A doctor came out to check the body, pronounced him dead and ordered that they take the body away immediately as he was not their patient. Narrating what happened, Femi said;

A Nigerian woman's only son was stabbed to death in Northridge, Los Angeles, California and a relative to the woman is claiming that the police is not doing anything about it. ABC news reports 21-year-old Jamal Oladapo, a Birmingham High School graduate and student at L.A. Film School, was found stabbed to death in the underground parking garage of the Merridy Village apartment building.

Jamal who lived at home with his mother, was studying to become a producer and also helped his mother with their family business.

A man believed to be a street beggar in his 20s, got electrocuted after scaling an electric pole ahead of a speech by suspended Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff. The unnamed victim, who was wearing just a pair of beach shorts, appeared to be entertaining the crowd, as they waited for at the political rally in Aracaju, Brazil. After spending several minutes clinging to the pole and waving a flag, he ignored warnings from bystanders to get down and climbed further up the pole towards the danger area where the electricity cables were attached.

Speaking aboard a plane taking him back to Rome after a five-day trip to Poland, Pope Francis said it would be unfair to label Islam as terrorism. Faith Molineux, an 8-year-old girl who is set to go under the knife for facial reconstructive surgery as she had a miracle escape after a 60ft tree branch came crashing down on the car she was in, left her with a shattered left eye socket and cheek.
 
The victim's 18-year-old niece identified as Alisha Vivien, was driving Faith to walk her dogs when the giant branch snapped and crushed the little Peugeot 107 at 2:00pm last Monday as the vehicle was completely flattened.

Miraculously, Alisha and her boyfriend, Nathaniel Hailey, only suffered minor bruising while Faith was stuck inside the debris, dropping in and out of consciousness.

A 50-year-old Chinese national identified as Si Guicai, committed suicide at his home in Itohan Avenue, Ikeja area of Lagos on Friday July 29th. Guicai allegedly hanged himself to the iron window of his apartment at 9:00 p.m. The reason behind his action is not yet known.


A motor cyclist, Jay Vincent, who broke his back, lost his right leg and suffered debilitating injuries to his right arm and shoulder after smashing his 90 mph motorbike into a telegraph pole 7 years ago, has started a successful new career as a bodybuilder.

Jay was just 17 years as at the time of the devastating accident. He spent three weeks in a coma, a further three months in intensive care and left the hospital six months later feeling weak and weighing only seven stone. 


Few weeks, a Nigerian posted a photo of a young African woman, whom he claimed was killed in Oman, a country in the Middle East. On the contrary, the young woman who has been identified as a Kenyan, Mary Kibwana Kamajo was burnt by her boss in Lebanon over three months ago. She died on Friday, July 29.

A 14 year old teenager, Kali Jade Bookey from New Richmond, Wisconsin, was charged as an adult by police on 28 July with attempted first-degree intentional homicide and if convicted, she could be jailed for up to 40 years.
According to police documents, Bookey attacked her brother's girlfriend, in the girl's bedroom, by first trying to suffocate her. She is then alleged to have smashed two bowls on the victim's head, and finally cut her throat with a shard from one of the bowls.

 
Barely a week after a 35 year old Nigerian businessman, Ikejiaku Chinedu, was beaten to death by guards of a private security firm situated on the outskirts of Polokwane, Limpopo Province of South Africa, at about 8p.m on Tuesday July 25th, two other Nigerians, Gideon Ogalaonye and Nnamdi Michael have been killed in the country.


A Customs officer allegedly shot and injured a trailer driver in Onne Seaport, Rivers state, yesterday. According to an eyewitness, the officer shot and injured the driver for no reason. In protest, the trailer drivers union shut down the port and used trailers to block the customs exit gate. They also reportedly destroyed offices, cars. Other Customs officers present at work, removed their uniform and ran away to avoid being assaulted.


A woman left in a phone box as a baby has reunited with the Nigerian man who found her 22 years ago, Metro UK reports.
Kiran Sheikh was two hours old when she was abandoned at a call box in Forest Gate, east London on April 30, 1994. The mother, who was trapped in a violent relationship, gave birth on the floor in her bathroom, dumped the child then called Samaritans, urging them to come quickly for the baby. 

Late Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi was buried yesterday in his hometown. His funeral started with a requiem mass in Benin, Edo State, yesterday.
