Five suspected internet fraudsters who posed as U.S soldiers to scam American women have been arrested by men of Oyo State Joint Security Task Force, 'Operation Burst'.
The suspects, Oyewole Oyeleye Olatunji (28), Adeniran Adeyinka Yusuf (29), Samuel Olumide Adeola (29), Israel Adeola (24) and Olorunyemi Savior Imonah (24) were arrested March 13, 2017 during a routine surveillance at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomosho.

A 29-year-old  woman who summoned the courage and fought off a crocodile off her husband last year has been awarded a trophy for her bravery, by the Kavango East police in Namibia. Elizabeth Shintangu, was doing laundry at the Kavango River near Rundu in the north-east when her husband, Matheus Kativa, who was bathing in the river, began screaming for help.

Two notorious kidnappers were killed yesterday night in a gun battle with men of Rivers State Police Command.

A statement issued by the spokesperson for the Command, DSP Omoni Nnamdi said operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Rivers State Command,  while following up a case of kidnapping, played along with the kidnappers who were waiting for a ransom.
The Operatives traced them to a forest in Umuebulu, Etche LGA, where the kidnapped victims namely:

A man was left within an inch of his life after he was attacked by another man with a razor blade. According to the report shared by Sapele Oghenek, the victim had been sent on an errand to his grandfather's house when the attacker jumped him and inflicted the deep cuts on him.

A couple has been arrested by officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in Sokoto state, for allegedly burning the manhood of a 17-year old teenager, name withheld, for raping their four year old daughter.

Disclosing this to newsmen in Sokoto state, the commandant of the Corps, Babangida Abdullahi, said that the couple were arrested at their Sama residence, Sokoto yesterday.

The plane, Boeing 737-300 which had been on a special flight from the capital, Lima, to Jauja,  veered off the runway, bursting into flames upon landing at the airport at about 4:30 pm on Tuesday local time, according to reports.

 
Esthela Clark, 47, paid $3,000 to bring another woman, 22, from Mexico, she held her captive in her home in Jacksonville, Florida and then tried to impregnate her with her boyfriend's sperm.

The Mexican woman, whose name was not given, revealed to federal agents that Esthela did all sorts of horrible things to her.
She said that Esthela forbade her from leaving her one-bedroom condominium, telling her that the neighborhood was dangerous and she would most likely get killed if she went out.

Monday night, a group of men shot and wounded two police officers in an ambush-style attack outside an apartment building in Miami. The Miami Herald newspaper reports that the officers were in an unmarked car at about 10 p.m. at the Annie Coleman housing projects, known as “The Rockies,” when the men walked up to the vehicle and opened fire.


Angry residents of Dwarsloop village in South Africa who got tired of administering corporal punishment and severe beatings on an unrepentant burglar decided it was best for him to dig his own grave and be buried alive. The man was allegedly caught and beaten by residents‚ who in the past three months had been suspected him of breaking into homes.

The video which was captured on Monday shows the suspected thief buried up to his chest while he’s severally struck on the head with the back of a shovel.

Six people have died following a plane crash on Monday near the border between Zimbabwe and Mozambique. The eight-seater plane crashed in the mountainous Vumba area, a picturesque tourist area in eastern Zimbabwe, near the border with Mozambique, the Herald newspaper reported.

 
A Ghanaian lady who had a weird experience with a Police Officer took to Twitter to narrate the incident in a series of tweets on Sunday. According to @JunkieOnMars, she claimed she was heading home when she was stopped at a police checkpoint in Dworwulu before one of the officers pulled her over for questioning. Surprisingly, during the interrogation, she said she got kissed by the Police officer who still couldn't explain his action.

 
A Nebraska 16-year-old, Antonia Lopez, who admitted to throwing her newborn out a second-floor window right after the baby was born last year, has been sentenced to probation. The teen who was supposed to be tried as an adult for killing her child and faced up to 20 years in jail, received clemency from the judge after her lawyer, claimed that the teen mum threw the newborn baby away because she thought the child was stillborn.

 
A man believed to be dead was found by family members in a bar, guzzling bottles of beer as his burial rites was underway. The burial of Wilson Oluoch was to be held on Saturday, the 25th of March at his village in Awendu, Migori, Kenya, however, what was supposed to be a sad day was transformed into one of feasting after the family got a message saying someone who looked like the deceased was found in a bar and upon investigation it turned out to be true.

New crisis broke out on Monday between touts at Alamutu and Akala streets in Mushin, Lagos, leaving one person dead and scores injured.
The fight, as gathered, was a spill-over of Sunday’s fight, following an interruption of a candle light procession by Alamutu Boys.
A resident, Kayode told Vanguard that “the two groups used to be together until Alamutu Boys pulled out.


In what resembles a script out of a Hollywood blockbuster, inmates at a Mexican prison staged a real life prison break after digging a 120ft tunnel in their desperate bid for freedom. 29 prisoners escaped but 13 have been recaptured while 16 are still on the loose. Luis Alberto Rodriguez, a state security spokesman, said that the tunnel was five meters deep and 40 long, and the opening was hidden in a hut that the inmates illegally constructed in a part of the prison they essentially controlled.
