An unidentified young man committed suicide in an uncompleted building at the Ijaiye area of Lagos state. Residents of the area woke up to find his body dangling from the ceiling of the building this morning. No one knows why he committed the act. Six persons were burnt to death in a fatal accident at Bebeji Local Government Area in Kano State yesterday, May 23rd. The accident involved a motorcycle carrying gallons of petrol and a Golf car. Zuma rock, one of the popular landmarks in Nigeria is on fire and has been since yesterday evening. It is not clear what caused the fire which can be seen on a portion at the top of the rock.
From the road leading up to the towering rock, smoke can be seen billowing as the fire shows no sign of abating. Isiyaku Madalla and other Facebook users resident in Abuja shared photos of the burning rock. More photos below.

A year-old baby girl was snatched from her mother and gang raped in Katsina State. The suspects had reportedly tricked the 30-year-old mother of the infant, encouraging her to get on a motorcycle, but as soon as they saw an opportunity, they snatched the baby from her and took her to a bush where they raped her.


Police officer from Atakpa division rescued an alleged robber from being set ablaze at Hawkins cemetery Calabar South, Cross River State.

The alleged robber, (pictured sitting on the floor) said to be a load carrier was caught red-handed in the act in the early hours of Thursday, May 18th, along Hawkins while carting away with some goods.

Justice Rilwan Aikawa of the Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the final forfeiture of the sum of N449,597,000 found in an abandoned Bureau de Change shop in Victoria Island, Lagos by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC on April 8th.

Justice Aikawa gave the order for permanent forfeiture after no one came forward to claim ownership of the money.

Brandon filed a petition at a small claims court seeking $17.31 in damages. He told the Austin American-Statesman that he spent that much money to take his unidentified date to a 3-D showing of "Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2" on May 6, 2017.


Stunning up-and-coming hip hop artist London Dior died over the weekend in a fatal car accident. She was just in her early 20s. One of London’s mentors, rapper Rick Ross, shared a picture of himself with the talented rapper and a heartfelt message for her friends, fans and family. Ross said:


A young lady identified as Amrasa Sophia Odirin, was murdered by some unknown persons in Delta state recently and her remains dumped on the roadside in Ughelli, a community in the state.

The Enugu State Police Command have arrested the notorious killer gang behind the murder of the Enugu state Deputy Governor Orderly Sgt Helen Sunday.
Late Sunday was shot dead at Transekulu after the Deputy Governor's convoy dropped her close to her residence.

A statement issued by the command today, May 17th, said that the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Anti Kidnapping Squad acting through a well coordinated operation borne out of Intelligence information gathered.

The body of a young man was found lying near a damaged motor cycle at Ebedei by the Road Safety Office, Ukwuole in Ukwanu Local Government Area of Delta State on Wednesday morning. The deceased said to be from Akoku community is believed to have been knocked down by a hit-and-run driver.

A Ghanaian lady was butchered to death by her abusive ex-fiance after she refused to reconcile with him in Labone, Ghana.

According to the reports online, the lady walked out of the relationship with her kids and moved to aunt's house, after she could no longer endure his physical abuse towards her.
The culprit tried to get her back into the relationship but she refused, and this infuriated him even more. He then went her aunt's house where he used a machete to butcher the woman. She was found by neighbors who rushed her to the hospital but she died on the way.

 
Yoav Galant, the minister of Housing and Construction in Israel has called for the assassination of Syrian President Bashar Assad saying he 'does not have a place in this world.'
The call comes days after the US State Department accused the Assad regime of carrying out mass killings of thousands of prisoners and burning the bodies in a large crematorium outside the capital.
The State Department said it is believed that about 50 detainees a day are being hanged at Saydnaya military prison, about 45 minutes north of Damascus. 

A horrific video circulating online showed a woman on a mobile phone getting hit by a car in Chonburi province, Thailand and her body flying across the road.
The woman, identified as 40-year-old Sudchada Bureepia, survived the accident. She suffered a broken skull and was sent to Phyathai Sriracha Hospital. Unfortunately, she died at the hospital on Thursday, May 12.

The Malawi Police at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA), Lilongwe, on Monday afternoon May 8 arrested a 43-year old Nigerian national for attempting to externalise US$7,000 (MK5 million), which was hidden in his hand luggage.
KIA Spokesperson Sapulain Chitonde, identified the suspect as Egemonye Christian Chinedu, from Nnewi and holder of a Nigerian Passport number A05010761.
