The police in Osun state have arrested three friends who met at the Ile-Ife prison and after their exit, came together to form an armed robbery gang. The robbers became friends in prison while servicing their jail terms for various offences. Upon their release, they came together to form a gang that terrorized members of the Ile-Ife community.

An 8-year-old girl has died in Lagos after she was beaten to death by her female employer. The suspect, who is a mother-of-two and pregnant with her third, was reportedly in the habit of maltreating the victim and a second house help living with her.

An unidentified young man committed suicide in an uncompleted building at the Ijaiye area of Lagos state. Zuma rock, one of the popular landmarks in Nigeria is on fire and has been since yesterday evening. It is not clear what caused the fire which can be seen on a portion at the top of the rock.

A year-old baby girl was snatched from her mother and gang raped in Katsina State. The suspects had reportedly tricked the 30-year-old mother of the infant, encouraging her to get on a motorcycle, but as soon as they saw an opportunity, they snatched the baby from her and took her to a bush where they raped her.

Police officer from Atakpa division rescued an alleged robber from being set ablaze at Hawkins cemetery Calabar South, Cross River State.

The alleged robber, (pictured sitting on the floor) said to be a load carrier was caught red-handed in the act in the early hours of Thursday, May 18th, along Hawkins while carting away with some goods.

Justice Rilwan Aikawa of the Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the final forfeiture of the sum of N449,597,000 found in an abandoned Bureau de Change shop in Victoria Island, Lagos by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC on April 8th.

Justice Aikawa gave the order for permanent forfeiture after no one came forward to claim ownership of the money.

According to The Star Kenya, the three boys identified as Clifford Nyambane, Dan Nyamweya, and Glen Ongagi were reported missing on May 13 after they went to a Church in the company of their cousin and never returned.

Earlier today, some students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology LAUTECH, posted an obituary of their current Vice Chancellor, Professor Sulaiman Gbadegeshin, as a way of showing their displeasure over the lingering strike action in the school. Academic activities in the school have been on standstill for many months now due to a faceoff between the staff of the school and the Osun and Ondo state governments that are co-owners of the school. The EFCC on May 16, 2017 arraigned the duo of Buhari Fannami and Ba-Kura Abdullahi on two separate one count charge before Justice M. T Salihu of the Federal High Court Maiduguri, for allegedly giving false information to the agency under the whistle blowing policy.

Fannami had misled the EFCC with the information about illegally acquired monies purportedly buried at the residence of one Ba’a Lawan but the info turned out to be false after the execution of a search warrant,

A young lady identified as Amrasa Sophia Odirin, was murdered by some unknown persons in Delta state recently and her remains dumped on the roadside in Ughelli, a community in the state.

According to Facebook user, Regina Osiaje who is a friend of the deceased, her killers dumped her body on the roadside to be found by people. Read what the friend wrote on Facebook after the cut.

The Enugu State Police Command have arrested the notorious killer gang behind the murder of the Enugu state Deputy Governor Orderly Sgt Helen Sunday.
Late Sunday was shot dead at Transekulu after the Deputy Governor's convoy dropped her close to her residence.

A statement issued by the command today, May 17th, said that the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Anti Kidnapping Squad acting through a well coordinated operation borne out of Intelligence information gathered.

A Ghanaian lady was butchered to death by her abusive ex-fiance after she refused to reconcile with him in Labone, Ghana.

According to the reports online, the lady walked out of the relationship with her kids and moved to aunt's house, after she could no longer endure his physical abuse towards her.
The culprit tried to get her back into the relationship but she refused, and this infuriated him even more. He then went her aunt's house where he used a machete to butcher the woman. She was found by neighbors who rushed her to the hospital but she died on the way.
