Troops of Operation DELTA SAFE (OPDS) on Tuesday ambushed a gang of sea robbers/kidnappers along KM-45 AWOBA Waterways in Rivers State. During the ambush operation, 4 robbers met their Waterloo. Items recovered include; 2× AK-47 rifles, quantity 3× AK-47 magazines, quantity 22 ammunitions and one-speed boat mounted with one 200 Horse-Power engine. Similarly, troops patrol along Bayelsa waterways acting on information, raided a sea pirates hideout along FORUPA-LOBIA waterways.

Zuma rock, one of the popular landmarks in Nigeria is on fire and has been since yesterday evening. It is not clear what caused the fire which can be seen on a portion at the top of the rock.

The suspects had reportedly tricked the 30-year-old mother of the infant, encouraging her to get on a motorcycle, but as soon as they saw an opportunity, they snatched the baby from her and took her to a bush where they raped her.

Police officer from Atakpa division rescued an alleged robber from being set ablaze at Hawkins cemetery Calabar South, Cross River State.

The alleged robber, (pictured sitting on the floor) said to be a load carrier was caught red-handed in the act in the early hours of Thursday, May 18th, along Hawkins while carting away with some goods.

Justice Rilwan Aikawa of the Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the final forfeiture of the sum of N449,597,000 found in an abandoned Bureau de Change shop in Victoria Island, Lagos by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC on April 8th.

Justice Aikawa gave the order for permanent forfeiture after no one came forward to claim ownership of the money.

James Ratemo, a Kenyan politician who is vying for the Kapsoya ward representative seat in Eldoret has been struck with tragedy as three of sons who went missing, were found dead.
According to The Star Kenya, the three boys identified as Clifford Nyambane, Dan Nyamweya, and Glen Ongagi were reported missing on May 13 after they went to a Church in the company of their cousin and never returned.

Earlier today, some students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology LAUTECH, posted an obituary of their current Vice Chancellor, Professor Sulaiman Gbadegeshin, as a way of showing their displeasure over the lingering strike action in the school. Academic activities in the school have been on standstill for many months now due to a faceoff between the staff of the school and the Osun and Ondo state governments that are co-owners of the school. The lecturers are demanding the payment of the arrears of their salary that amounts to N7.1 billion.
