Pieces of a Myanmar military plane which went missing with more than 100 soldiers and family members aboard have been  found in the Andaman Sea.
Navy ships and aircraft have been searching all afternoon after the plane lost contact with air traffic controllers. More than a dozen children were believed to be among the passengers on the plane.

Parents and relatives of the six male students of the Igbonla Model School in Igbonla, Epe Lagos state, this morning staged a protest at the Lagos state government house in Ikeja.

Weeping mothers of the students called on the state government to intensify efforts towards the rescue of their wards.
The six male students namely Pelumi Philips, Farouq Yusuf, Isiaq Rahmon, Adebayo George, Judah Agbausi and Peter Jonah, were abducted on Thursday May 25th. One of the mothers, Mrs Toyin Philips, said

A military plane has disappeared over Myanmar with 116 people on board. The plane left the southern coastal town of Myeik in the afternoon and was bound for Myanmar’s largest city of Yangon, but it lost contact about 20 miles west of the town of Dawei and has been declared missing, the military said.

The Kogi state police command have arrested one 30-year-old man, identified as Garuba, for stabbing his wife to death over N2, 000 feeding money.

According to the Sun, Garuba who is a commercial driver from Ihima in Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State, was paraded alongside other criminals in the state. Garuba told journalists that his wife of 15 years, Falilat, picked up a quarrel with him over his inability to cater for the family.

Joanna Delgado, 18, of Kerman, California, gave birth by the roadside immediately after she was involved in a head-on car crash on Sunday night. The teenager died just after delivering her baby girl via c-section at the crash site while the baby died a day later in the hospital in California.

Joanna had been driving a Honda Civic when she suddenly swerved over the middle of the lane and collided head-on with another vehicle. Adriana Solorio Romero, 24, who was driving the other vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in Five Points, California.  Early reports indicate drugs or alcohol were not involved in the accident.


Two children, age 10 and 14, were burnt to death on Tuesday morning when fire razed properties along SDP Road in Bonny LGA of Rivers State.
It was gathered that the fire started in the early hours of today with an uncontrollable speed and force. Source of fire is yet to be known.

A 90-year old virgin, Miss Agnes Udofia who lived her life caring for other people's children is set to be immortalised by the people of ikot Udobia village in the Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom.

46-year-old Nigerian father of three and nursing student, Nicholas Ozoechi Nwonye was stabbed to death in Canada, an attack the police say was random and unprovoked.
Nwonye was on his way home from Hersak’s lecture hall when the deadly attack took place, at 6:45 p.m. on the westbound platform of the City Hall LRT station in downtown Calgary last Friday night, June 2.

Reports emerging at the moment reveals that multiple people have died in an attack carried out in Orlando this morning. The shooting occurred in Orlando's industrial area, officials say.

Following reports of multiple gunshots, officers gathered in a parking lot outside a warehouse off Forsyth Road in Orange County, near Full Sail University, Florida, shortly before 9a.m.

Many passengers were left stranded after a bridge that links passengers from Niger state to Lagos state collapsed after a heavy downpour. The collapsed portion of the bridge is at Gidan Mai Village, along Mokwa-Makera highway in Niger state.

Former Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tioté has passed away at the age of 30 after collapsing in training with Beijing Enterprises in China early this morning.
The Ivorian joined the Chinese club in January after seven years at Newscastle playing 11 games before his death.

The Russian authorities have arrested a man suspected of murdering nine people in a drunken rage during a house party in the Tver region.
45-year-old Sergey Yegorov allegedly shot and killed five men and four women at the house party over the weekend.
UK Mirror reports that the shooting spree started after fellow guests began to taunt him for not being a "real man" because he had not served in the Russian army.

A suspected member of the notorious Badoo gang was caught and lynched around Olomomeje Mosque in Aga, (Oni Ogunsanya Street) Ikorodu. The suspect was caught this morning then taken to the Onyabo office where he was interrogated by Onyabo - a vigilante group in Ikorodu - at their office.
According to the story shared by Ikorodu Ambassadors Group on Facebook, the angry mob insisted on serving justice themselves and prevented the authorities from taking the suspect away.

The photo of a young man who fled from Saturday's terrorist attacks with a pint of beer in his hand has gone viral. The photo, which has been retweeted over 34,900 times, features the man fleeing from the scene of the attack, while making sure his full glass of beer didn't spill, while he ran for his dear life.
