Minna Magistrates’ Grade 1 Court on Tuesday remanded a teenager, Mose Lawal, accused of defiling a four-year-old girl in Niger.

Mr Abdullahi Mayaki, prosecutor for the state Child Rights Protection Agency, told the court that the incident occurred on Aug. 29, at Anguwa Soje around Kpankungu in Chanchaga Local Government.

Some of the four alleged members of a banned British neo-Nazi group arrested on Tuesday for terror offences are serving soldiers, Britain’s defence ministry said.
National Action became the first far-right group to be outlawed by the government in December last year, six months after the assassination of lawmaker Jo Cox by a far-right sympathiser.
The four suspects are being held “on suspicion of being concerned in the commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism,” British police said in a statement.

The young man died a few weeks back from sickle cell anemia complications.

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sadness over the death of the first President of the Christian Council of Nigeria, now Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. Luther Dabirong Cishak.
President Buhari, in a tribute in memory of the religious leader, issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, in Abuja, described the deceased as “one of Nigeria’s finest and greatest religious leaders.’’

A four-year old girl has died of malaria after apparently contracting the disease in northern Italy in a case that has perplexed the medical world, doctors said Tuesday.
“I’ve never seen a case like it, it’s a mystery. It shouldn’t have been possible for her to get malaria,” Claudio Paternoster, head of the infectious diseases department at the Santa Chiara hospital in Trento, told AFP.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos zonal office, has arrested seven National Diploma (ND) students of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, Ogun State for alleged offenses bordering on conspiracy, obtaining money under false pretenses and possession of forged documents.

The suspects- Adesina Olalekan, Makinde Noheem, Toheeb Ogunowo, Somotun Olusola, Somotun Sodiq, Tajudeen Hafeez Bolaji and Kareem Olaseni- are studying various courses in the institution.

Suspected ritualists have killed Ogorochi Oluka, a villager at Obetim community, Ndokwa East Local Government Area, Delta State, and disappeared with his corpse.

Meanwhile, a film producer, who came to Ugbolu town in Oshimili North Local Government Area of the state to shoot a film, has killed a villager following a disagreement over food. 

Commissioner of Police, Delta Command, Mr. Zanna Ibrahim, who confirmed both incidents to Vanguard, said Police have launched a manhunt for the suspected ritualists, who are on the run, while the remains of the deceased were not recovered.

Kenya’s Supreme Court on Friday declared the results of last month’s presidential poll “invalid, null and void” and ordered the election be re-run within 60 days.

“The presidential election held on August 8 was not conducted in accordance with the constitution,” said Chief Justice David Maraga, ruling in favour of the opposition which challenged the declaration of President Uhuru Kenyatta as the winner.

36-year-old John Emeka Obodoechina was recently burnt to death in Lagos, by her fiancée, Blessing Ohare Ukhurebor, simply because he decided to quit the relationship due to her violent nature.
DailySun reported that John and Blessing had dated for over a year, before she moved in with him.
It was also revealed that John introduced Blessing, from Edo State, to his siblings, but he was advised to study her for a few months before deciding on a formal visit to Blessing’s family for dowry payment.
