Justin Bieber, at the ripe age of 19, has claimed he's ready to retire from music -- twice in one week. First he told a Los Angeles radio station that his next album <a href='http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20767684,00.html' target='_blank'>would be his last</a>. Next, he <a href='https://twitter.com/justinbieber/status/415683404462436352' target='_blank'>took to Twitter</a> on Christmas Eve to try the joke again before assuring fans he'd be here "<a href='https://twitter.com/justinbieber/status/415694468591800321' target='_blank'>FOREVER</a>." After the year he's had, we can't say we blame the guy for wanting to bow out. He still hasn't, of course.

By SaharaReporters, New York
Documents obtained by SaharaReporters from a source in the Nigeria Customs Service show categorically that Nigeria has lost well over one trillion Naira in revenue in the last three years alone, the direct result of import concessions or waivers issued by the Ministry of Finance.
Two weeks ago, the Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, was asked by the House of Representatives Committee on Finance to present a detailed account of just how much money has been lost because of import duty waivers.  The committee wanted to know who has benefitted, what was imported, and most significantly: why these waivers were granted.
The query was one of 50 the committee gave to Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala following her 2014 budget presentation to the National Assembly, which she answered this week.
The committee said in a statement on Thursday it would conduct an exhaustive review of her responses, and probably ask her for more information.  It will also call for memorandum on the state of the economy and the 50 questions from professionals, academics, civil society and all well-meaning Nigerians, to be be followed by a public hearing, before it presents its report on the true state of the economy to the Nigerian people.
The specific question asked of the Minister on waivers, Number 15 on the list, was “how much exactly has been the amount of money lost in government revenue as a result of import duty waivers in 2011, 2012 and 2013?”

Six federal lawmakers on Thursday escaped unhurt at Wasimi Market Square, Ewekoro Local Government Area, Ogun State, following a bloody clash between factions of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
A senator representing Ogun Central at the National Assembly, Gbenga Obadara, was billed to hold a meeting with party members at the market square when they were attacked by gun-wielding thugs.
Eight people were reportedly shot including Sunday Akinbode, a police sergeant attached to Mr. Obadara, who was shot in a region close to his private part; Lasisi Bayo; Dapo Soyinka; and Femi Babalola.
All the victims were rushed to Mercy Hospital in Abeokuta where they are currently receiving treatment.

Celebrities aren't saying much openly about the anti-gay bill. And sincerely I don't blame them. If you're against it, then it means you're gay, if you're for it, then you're a bigot...but I guess comedian Ali Baba doesn't care what people think of him. He's shared his strong opinions on the new law. And fortunately or unfortunately he's speaking for 95% of Nigerians. See more Tweets after the cut...

Source; SaharaReporters
The drama surrounding the fate of the chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Bamanga Tukur has come to an end. Only two days ago, Mr. Tukur was daring President Goodluck Jonathan to sack him if he could. He claimed that he was elected by a constituted convention of the party, and only another convention could sack him.

Though known as an actor, Desmond has occasionally gone behind the camera serving as Director in movies like 'Kiss and Tell' and 'Bursting Out'.
Any guesses as to what this movie would be about?
