Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has approved the disbursement of a sum of N119m as car loans to 623 workers in the state public service. The state Commissioner for Finance, Chief Toyin Ojo, disclosed this in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, at the weekend. Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) got N82,120,000 while Parastatals and Agencies got N36.80 million.

Yoruba Obas under the aegis, Yoruba Obas Conflict Resolution Committee, have applauded the new title of "Baba Go Slow" being used by some people to describe President Buhari.  Bobbi Kristina Brown has died aged 22 - six months after she was found unconscious in a bathtub.
 
The aspiring singer was rushed to hospital and placed in a medically-induced coma on January 31 after she was discovered face-down in the water-filled tub at her townhouse in Roswell, Georgia.
She passed away, surrounded by her family, at the hospice on Sunday - just 3 years after her famous mother, singer Whitney Houston, died aged 48 in a bathtub at a hotel in Beverly Hills.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the death of a Hollywood production assistant and police say the killing had to do with a dispute over money.
Ezeoma Obioha, 31, was arrested on Friday night and remains in jail where he is being held on a $1million bail.
Obioha and Carrie Jean Melvin knew each other and had a financial dispute. 30 year old Melvin was walking with her boyfriend in Hollywood, California, earlier this month when a Obioha walked up behind them, aimed a shotgun at her head and pulled the trigger.


I think this man went too far. You don't do this to your own child. An Indiana dad named Gary Mills shared a video of his teenage daughter on Facebook that show her wearing a cardboard sign that read,
"My name is Abby Mills & I am a liar & a theif! I’ve stolen from my parents, brothers & sister. Aunts & uncles. I even stole my 9-yr-old cousin’s Christmas presents.”
In the video that has since gone viral, the dad, who is filming, can be heard asking people to share the video 'so everybody in the world will know my daughter's a thief and I'm sick and tired of it.". Many have condemned the video but some are hailing the dad. What do you guys think? Did he go too far?

Troubled Nigerian music legend Majek Fashek recently visited a dentist to fix his bad teeth as part of his efforts to get his life back together. His friend Black Rise shared photos from Majek's visit to the dentist on his Facebook page and wrote "Thanking you all for your contributions and donations. You can see your goodwill is showing and working"

Guess the family has given up and it looks like Bobbi Kristina will spend her last days at a hospice in Atlanta. Her aunt, co-legal guardian and her mother's former manager, Pat Houston, has reportedly cleaned out the home in Roswell where the 22 year old was found unresponsive.

According to Us Weekly, an insider said Pat removed most of Bobbi Kristina's belongings from the home as she's not expected to ever go back there
“She removed the belongings. She kept all the pictures and Whitney’s platinum and gold album plaques. But she threw everything else out.”

Los Angeles police investigating a man's death discovered an arsenal of more than 1,200 firearms and approximately two tons of ammunition in his home and garage Monday.

It was reported that the unidentified man's decomposing body was found in his car, which was parked down the street from his Pacific Palisades home earlier Monday.

19 students of St Mary's Kibabi Boys High School in Kenya were suspended for arguing in favour of gay rights during a debate. According to Nation FM, the opponents in the debate accused the students of being homosexuals as they were very passionate in their defense of homosexually during the school debate. The school is now  investigating the 19 suspended students.


Dr Marienne Abimbola Silva, the mother of veteran actress Joke Silva has died. She died peacefully yesterday morning July 19th. She was 89 years old.

Dr Silva was the third female doctor in Nigeria but the first Nigerian female to bag a medical degree. She became an OON (Officer of the Order of the Niger) in 1979.

She's survived by her children and grandchildren. May her soul rest in peace...Amen.
