Nollywood actor, Ernest Asuzu suffered a stroke sometime last year.

He is back on his feet and was reportedly given a brand new exotic jeep and cash, by Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Warri, Delta state.

The actor suffered partial stroke last year and after spending one year in Mercyland, Asuzu has been healed of his stroke, as he can now walk properly.

Traumatized Nigerian migrant Lucky (Right) said he regularly witnessed many killing in Libya. The 20-year-old is one of more than 118,000 people to have made the perilous journey from Libya to Italy so far this year. Nearly 15,000 have been picked up off the coast of Libya since 28 August.
"It was a nightmare, " said Lucky. If many people knew what was going on there, they would not dare come"

Africa’s foremost scholar of Oral Literature and award-winning novelist, Prof. Isidore Okpewho, has passed on at 74.

The Distinguished Professor at State University of New York, died peacefully on Sunday, September 4th, surrounded by family members at a hospital in Binghamton, a town in Upstate New York where he had lived and taught since 1991. 
His teaching career spanned University of New York at Buffalo (1974-76), University of Ibadan (1976-90), Harvard University (1990-91), and State University of New York at Binghamton. 


Oluwatoyin Islamiyat Abdulkadir (pictured), emerged the best graduating student of the International University of Africa, IUA, located in Sudan recently. Oluwatoyin, an orphan, who once won the Oyo state essay writing competition on poverty eradication, had to work for a year after her secondary school education before she registered for JAMB.

She finally got admitted to the University Of Ibadan to study medicine, around the same time, she got a scholarship to study Nursing at IUA.

Almost seven years after EFCC handed over the N2.8billion Chelsea Hotel built by former governor of Bayelsa state, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha to the state government, the hitherto revenue-generating hotel is rotting away in Abuja. Alamieyeseigha was governor of the oil rich state form 1999-2005.

He was standing trial for corruption in 2007 and lost possession of the property and some others after a ruling by a court in a Federal High Court, Lagos. Asides the hotel, the EFCC sold other Alamieyeseigha assets in Nigeria and realised N3, 128, 230, 294.83billion; $441,000; E7, 000 and £2,000.
