Troops carrying out clearance operations on suspected Boko Haram terrorists hideouts in Talala and Ajigin, southern part of Borno State, were ambushed by suspected Boko Haram terrorists at Ugundiri village, Damboa Local Government Area, Borno State, while returning to base after clearance operations yesterday.
Unfortunately, 5 soldiers, 3 vigilantes and 1 Civilian JTF lost their lives during the ambush, while 19 soldiers and 1 Civilian JTF sustained various degrees of injuries. The bodies of the late soldiers and civilians have been evacuated to Maiduguri while the injured are receiving commensurate medical care and are in stable condition.

 
A 29 year old mother, Kerry Askin, whose 3 year old son had been diagnosed with lung cancer was forced to make the heartbreaking decision no parent should ever be faced with.

The mum had been warned that her son, Dylan, who was lying unconscious on the hospital bed, would not survive the rare form of cancer. The cancer had left him critically ill with bacterial pneumonia and caused his major organs to fail.

In a rescue operation coordinated by the Italian Red Cross and the Migrant Offshore and Station (MOAS) 352 people were rescued yesterday, October 25th.

Those rescued include migrants from Nigeria, Syria, Togo, Niger and Pakistan, among them 34 women and 3 children. They were transferred safely, and are now being cared for as they head back north to Sicily for disembarkation.

The police in Enugu state has reportedly shot dead an armed robber and arrested his accomplice in Inyi community, Igboeze North Local Government Area of Enugu State.

A 19-year-old man, Felix Gbadebo has been arrested by the Ogun state police for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl little girl (whose name was not released due to her age). In a statement by State Police Command image-maker, Abimbola Oyeyemi in Abeokuta on Sunday, the suspect called the little girl into his room on the pretext that he wanted to send her on an errand then raped her as soon as she entered his room.


The rumour that Tristan Thompson and Khloe Kardashian are engaged may be true because she has finally reached a divorce settlement with her estranged husband, Lamar Odom. According to TMZ reports, a property settlement has been agreed to and the paperwork was signed on Friday.
