An Indonesian woman was yesterday caned in public for having sex outside
of wedlock. The young woman cried her eyes out until she passed out and
was carried off on a stretcher. She was flogged for breaking the sharia
law that governs the Banda Aceh province in Indonesia. Two other men
were also caned in public as punishment for committing adultery. More
