Demi Lovato has announced she is stepping out of the limelight next
year.
The 24-year-old took to Twitter on Tuesday to reveal she would be
'taking a break from music and the spotlight'.
She shocked fans when she tweeted: 'So excited for 2017. Taking a break
from music and the spotlight, adding 'I am not meant for this business
and the media'.
She made these tweets after her Interview with Glamour magazine about
Taylor Swift's Bad Blood video. During the Interview Demi said:
'I think that having a song and a video about tearing Katy Perry down, that's not women's empowerment.'
Demi also criticised the video for giving young fans the wrong
impression of what they should look like by only using women with
seemingly perfect figures.
Demi, who is known to promote positive body image after suffering from
an eating disorder, said:
'This will probably get me in trouble, but I don't see anybody in any sort of squad that has a normal body. It's kind of this false image of what people should look like.'She got a backlash from Taylor Swift's fans after her interview but she defended herself by tweeting:
