The timely intervention of the Deputy Governor of Benue State Engr.
Benson Abounu and George Alli who led the men of the Nigeria Police and
the Civil Defence, quelled what would led to a bloody war between
Agatu and Otukpo.
Details are still sketchy however, it was gathered that an Adoka-Icho man beat an Agatu boy to death. The Agatu people not having none of this took the war to Adoka-Icho.
It took the intervention of the men of the police and the Civil Defence who were mobilised to the scene by the SOLAD with the support of the Deputy Governor to dissipate what could have turned deadly.
