A violent beggar choked a West Side man into unconsciousness in Central Park’s Ramble in a hellish mugging that underscores the famed park’s skyrocketing robbery stats.

“If you scream I’ll kill you,” were the last words the 53-year-old victim heard Thursday night as the fiend’s arm tightened around his throat and he collapsed to the ground, cops said.

Upon regaining consciousness about half an hour later, the victim found that his wallet was gone.

The Nigerian Army on Saturday disclosed that it has uncovered an abandoned college of education’s chemistry laboratory in Borno State which the terrorist group, Boko Haram, converted into an improvised explosive devices factory.

The Deputy Director, Army Public Relations and Spokesman for the 7 Division, Nigerian Army, Col. Tukur Gusau, made the revelation in statement on Saturday in Maiduguri.

Authorities are investigating why a 48-year-old man lost consciousness and died just after being detained in the lobby of the Dallas County jail Saturday morning.

According to authorities, Joseph Sheldon Hutcheson ran into the building sometime after 10 a.m., yelled for help, but was placed in handcuffs, lost consciousness and died.

Raul Reyna, the Dallas County sheriff’s office spokesman, said Hutcheson parked his pickup in the crosswalk and ran into the jail’s south tower, yelling that his wife was trying to kill him, Reyna said.

A deputy restrained Hutcheson with handcuffs, “believing that he may be a threat to himself or others until they could calm the man down,” Reyna said in an email.
An eye witness, April Berryhill, who was at the jail to submit a property release form, said she saw one sheriff’s deputy with his knee on Hutcheson’s back and another one with a knee on his throat.

Berryhill said Hutcheson told deputies he couldn’t breathe before they uncuffed him and laid him down on his back.

The Chairman of Enugu state PDP chapter Ikeje Asogwa was today invited for interrogation by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over allegations of misappropriation of funds. Murder Case
Steven Onowa, a graduate of Federal Polytechnic Oko, hails from Anambra State, was arrested by the Akwa Ibom State police command following the murder of Daniel Bassey Solomon, his close friend and employee.
Steven, who attempted to escape after allegedly butchering his friend a middle aged barber, was apprehended by the members of the police.
The state Police Commissioner, Mr Gabriel Achong, said the culprit has confessed to the crime.
“At about 3.00 a.m, I decided to kill him.
“I gave him the first cut, the guy got up; I gave him a second one and he died and I butchered him to parts,” the suspect confessed.
