Senator Shehu Sani who represents Kaduna Central in the Senate, has released a statement reacting to the threat of expulsion from the Kaduna chapter of APC. The party yesterday threatened to expel him for speaking against the Buhari-led government on the oil subsidy removal.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Politics and Ideology, Suleiman Ahmed and released today, Sani accused the state governor, Nasir El Rufai, of being the mastermind behind the expulsion threat. Sani said the threat is nothing but the hallucinations of a barely educated ogogoro drinker.

 
An operative of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has killed a 26-year-old man, Chukwudi John, after he opened fire on a truck in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

PUNCH gathered that the incident occurred on Wednesday when John, an employee of Dompec Global Resources Limited, was returning from Abak Local Government Area in the state, where he and his colleagues had gone to supply goods.

An EgyptAir flight with more than 66 people aboard crashed during a flight from Paris to Cairo leaving the victim's families and friends devastated as they search for answer.
The plane was flying at 37,000 feet when it lost contact overnight above the Mediterranean Sea, the airline tweeted. French President Francois Hollande said he was told the flight crashed, but Egyptian Civil Aviation Minister Sharif Fathi said he preferred to classify the flight as missing, CNN reports.

In furtherance of the ongoing efforts to enhance operational effectiveness and service delivery, the Nigerian Air Force has commissioned new sets of facilities in its units at Makurdi and Benin City.

Some of the newly commissioned projects were named after deceased personnel who died in the ongoing counter insurgency operation in Northeast Nigeria. NLC Protesters this afternoon forced their way into the Lagos state government secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja to harass and disturb government workers who are not participating in the ongoing strike action.

The state government yesterday released a statement warning all its workers to shun the strike as the "No work no pay rule" will be applied for anyone who failed to show up for work.

Nigeria Labour Congress in Lagos State took their protests to the Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, today. According to reports, they blocked a junction leading to the secretariat, then entered the premises and began disturbing government activities by harassing workers for not obeying the announced strike action.
