The Health Ministry of the Democratic Republic of Congo together with the World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed on Friday that one person who died recently of a hemorrhagic fever has tested positive for the Ebola virus, indicating a fresh new outbreak of the killer disease. 
According to the Ministry, the case was confirmed after tests were conducted on nine people who came down with a hemorrhagic fever in Bas-Uele province in the north of the country on or after April 22, adding that three people have died of fever.

The body of a man who was declared missing was found Friday at Abeke Road beside former Texaco Filling Station in Sapele, Delta State. The elder brother and younger sister, who have identified him said that he left home Thursday, May 11 and they had been searching for him. until they discovered his body. A member of the National Youth Service Coprs NYSC, Onwuegbuzie Stanley-Samuel, who was serving in Cross Rivers state, has died of Lassa fever disease at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) Thursday May 12th. This was disclosed today by the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Inyang Asibong.

10-year-old Juliana Ossa is lucky to be alive, she was attacked by a 9ft alligator at Mary Jane Lake but fought the beast off and escaped with injuries to her leg. On a trip to Orland theme park, Gatorland, she picked up tips on what to do in case of an alligator attack and those lessons ultimately saved her life. She stuck her fingers in the alligator's nostrils and jammed its respiration forcing it to release its jaws in order to breath from the mouth. She said:

The Abia State Police Command has recovered two stolen vehicles and arrested a suspected armed robber. Briefing newsmen at the police headquarters on Tuesday, May 9, the Commissioner of Police Adeleye Oyebade said that one Johnson, a cab driver reported at Obehie Police Station that his vehicle, Volkswagen Vento car with reg. no. A Nigerian doctor and her husband have been accused of trafficking a Nigerian woman to the UK before making her work 18-hour shifts and beating her when she asked for higher wages.
Dr Ayodeji Adewakun, 44, and Abimbola Adewakun, 48, are alleged to have paid babysitter Iyabo Olatunji, just £20 a week for looking after their two young children at home in Erith, south east London.
