This is the dramatic moment two women opened fire and threw
a grenade on the streets of Istanbul before barricading themselves in a
government building.
The attackers targeted a riot police bus as it drove towards
the police station in the Bayrampasa district of Turkey's biggest city.
Police returned fire, injuring one of the women, before
tracking them to a nearby building where they are holed up.
Footage on Turkish television stations showed the street
cordoned off as armed plainclothes police in bullet-proof vests emerged from
the police station.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Thursday’s
attack in which no casualties were reported.
