Getting married again! Dolly Parton to renew vows with reclusive husband Carl Dean for 50th anniversary

Big plans: Dolly Parton - pictured in Las Vegas last month - recently opened up to People about her 50th anniversary plans
Her husband usually steers clear of the limelight.

But in honour of the special day, Dolly Parton is getting the normally reclusive Carl Dean to make a public appearance.

The 70-year-old legendary country star recently revealed that she and the 73-year-old businessman will celebrate their 50th anniversary in a surprisingly public manner.

Dolly opened up about the exciting event scheduled for May 30 as she told People in a Tuesday report: 'We're going to get married again!'

'I'll have a beautiful wedding dress, 'cause I didn't have a big, long wedding dress when we got married and we’ve got a suit for him, so we're going to dress up and take a bunch of pictures.'

'He's a loner': Carl is rarely seen during Dolly's public appearances but they have enjoyed years of success as a married couple as they plan to celebrate on May 30
Despite Carl's decision to shun the limelight, he is a great partner in crime as she explained: 'He's always been supportive.

'He's like a brother and a father and a friend and a husband and a lover – all of those things to me. I think he's kind of proud that we've been in it this long!'

The couple were married in 1966 in the city of Ringgold, Georgia as Dolly's mother was the only witness at the ceremony.

They had met just two years prior on the very the day that the Rockin' Years hitmaker moved to Nashville.

Dolly's biographical TV movie Coat Of Many Covers was released Tuesday on DVD after a successful airing on NBC.
