Two persons have been reported dead, and 14 others injured in an fatal
accident that occurred in the Anthony area of Lagos Monday afternoon. A
statement by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) says
the agency received a distress call at 3:05 pm, and deployed its
Emergency Response Team (ERT) to the scene.
The remains of the two persons killed in the accident have been deposited at the Lagos mainland hospital mortuary while the 14 others that sustained various degrees of injury are being treated at the Gbagada General Hospital and trauma centre by LASAMBUS and the LASEMA paramedics.
“Preliminary investigation conducted by the ERT at the scene of the accident purportedly revealed that a Volkswagen commercial bus with registration number GGE716XM had a head-on collision with another vehicle (Mazda Taxi). The damaged vehicles were subsequently recovered with the aid of the agency’s towing truck to avoid another incident and to ensure free flow of traffic in the area.” The statement read.
