A 42-year-old driver, Igwe Dike, has been arraigned before a Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Ikeja, for allegedly beating his wife, Nkiru Egbo, with a plank which left her and their son seriously injured.


Dike was arraigned on two counts of assault and causing of grievous bodily harm, which he pleaded not guilty to.

A young man who specializes in stealing and selling little children has been apprehended in Sokoto state. According to reports, the man was apprehended after a little girl he attempted to steal at the 500 housing estate in Sokoto a while ago, recognized him last Saturday. After much torture from the youths in the area, he confessed to have stolen so many children from the area. He said he sells them to some people but he, however, refused to disclose those he sell's them off to. He has since been handed over to the police. 

 
Angry mob sets ablaze a suspected motorcycle thief at Dabi village, Kwali area council last Sunday.
Witnesses said the incident happened at about 4:00p.m. in the community on the Abuja-Lokoja expressway.
It was gathered the mob pursued the suspected thief from Gwagwalada to Dabi after he allegedly snatched a motorcycle. The suspect abandoned the machine and fled but that the mob caught him. He was beaten to pulp before being burnt alive.

 
The police in Abuja have recounted how a 45-year-old man slumped and died last Sunday after having sex with his girlfriend at her apartment in War College Estate, Gwarimpa, Abuja.
According to a police source, the deceased had visited his girlfriend identified only as Bridget at about 10:00 in the morning. He was preparing to leave when he suddenly slumped and died.

Afeez Ayo, a car wash assistant in Abuja has been nabbed by the police for stealing a customers 2008 Toyota Highlander SUV.

Ayo, a OND holder reportedly changed the plate number of the car before driving it to Ibadan where he picked 4 others enroute Lagos.

The suspect was arrested at Agodi Junction, Ibadan on his way from Lagos by detectives from Apo police division, Abuja in collaboration with the Oyo State Police Command.

 
A troubled Manhattan woman has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for scalding hot oil onto her sleeping boyfriend and repeatedly stabbing him before locking him in their bedroom.
According to prosecutors, 39-year-old Myeshia Hawkins-Taylor argued and accused his boyfriend of cheating on her on Jan. 29, 2016. Around 2 a.m. the next day, she poured hot oil onto her boyfriend’s face and body, severely burning him.

Brave ex-para, Max Dixon, was driving with his family in the car when he mistakenly drove into a slum controlled by a drug gang and their car was riddled with bullets. His wife Eloise Dixon, 46, was shot in front of their three children and Max swung into action and drove them out of there as bullets rained on their car.

Two suspected quacks, Adetoun Oyebade, a nurse, and Moses Dada, a health assistant — who allegedly performed a surgery on a woman that complained of stomach pains, were yesterday taken before an Ikeja chief magistrate’s court, Lagos.

 The accused, Oyebade, 43, a resident of Fajumo Street, Alakuko, a Lagos suburb, and Dada, 41, who lives in Ifo, Ogun, are facing a four-count charge of conspiracy, operating unregistered clinic, impersonation and performing illegal surgery.

 
A man has been trapped under a container following an accident that happened yesterday morning, in front of Imo state Polytechnic, Umuagwo, Imo State.
The accident which immediately killing one person identified as Ifeanyi, said to be a bus conductor, also narrowly missed the fully loaded 18-passenger bus he was commuting in.

An underground den used by ritualists has been uncovered right on the main road at Obadeyi bus-stop, Ijaiye, Lagos-Abeokuta road. According to Twitter user, Oluwanifemi an eye witness said the 'Ajale' was uncovered by a female sweeper who heard a victim screaming for help.

Victoria Beckham is launching a legal battle against a fish and chip shop in Tyneside after the shop claimed its pizza crusts were thinner than the former Spice Girl.

Sidhu Golden Fish and Chips in Battle Hill put the slogan on the back of its delivery van, which caused Mrs Beckham to make the issue into a "legal matter".

On the van, there is a caricature of Mrs Beckham wearing a sash which reads "Anorexic Fashion Icon".

Mount Holly police officers responded to Laura Bluestein’s home after a relative reported a possible assault Sunday, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Manta rays are the fish with the largest brains, and at the same time, they are charismatic and gentle animals.

 A 12-year-old girl whose rapist walked free from court has spoken of being "devastated" in a powerful letter.

The victim was plied with vodka and cherry cola at a party before being raped by Daniel Cieslak, then aged 19.

Cieslak, now 21, was controversially given an absolute discharge by a court in Scotland after claiming the 12-year-old had been an “active participant” in sex with him.

A court in Germany has sentenced a couple to a lengthy jail term on Friday for brutally raping and killing a Chinese student in eastern Germany.

According to DPA new agency,  the 21-year-old defendants, named only as Sebastian F. and Xenia I., lured the 25-year-old architecture student to an empty apartment in May last year. They were said to have brutally rapped and tortured her to death.
